I don't see that choosing a woman for VP running mate is any more desperate than choosing a man who some consider African American for Presidential candidate. What concerns me most and should concern voters is what have these nominees done in the past and what promises that they are making for our future can they themselves really fulfill. Many times a president can't accomplish much unless they can rally both parties for a cause. I think most people are going to vote for a person not because of their skin color or gender, but because of their ability to accomplish things. I can see that this lady came from a place of ordinary and earned the respect of others and became extraordinary. That is what impresses me. I can't stand all the politicians who were born with a silver spoon in their mouths and have no idea what the reality of middle and lower class people are going through. Not that some of the wealthy can't be understanding and helpful, but many don't and won't. I for one am greatly concerned about Obama's links to some unsavory people and I'm super concerned about his past voting on partial-birth abortions. I don't think it is right to kill a baby who is born, except for the head, by stabbing it in the head and sucking its brain out. I can't believe anyone could be that cold.

I agree. I think Obama can deliver a good speech but can he deliver? HMMMM, something to think about. McCain and Palin have proven in the past, they can deliver.

I read somewhere that that some pundits are trying to say McCain cannot questions B. Hussein Obama on his lack of experience because of Palin. Hm. She has run the countries largest state for two solid years. Sen. O has run what? Oh, yea, volunteer orgs and oh yea as a senator he's worked what, 150 days or less. No comparison, she's better qualified.

And she's a working mom. And she has a good name.

Truth be told, ditch McCain and elect Palin!!!!! hehehehehehehehehe

Leave the girl scouts out of this or else we'll have another Bill Clinton on our hands. Tee Hee McCain made an excellent choice if WE really want CHANGE not just Obama-talk it.

"And Obama campaign spokesman Bill Burton warned that McCain had 'put the former mayor of a town of 9,000 with zero foreign policy experience a heartbeat away from the presidency.'"

And what? We should put Obama and his lack of foreign policy experience into the presidency? Every article I have researched lists his lack of foreign policy experience as a major problem, and his people have the nerve to say this. He doesn't have as much experience at anything as she does, except giving speeches someone else has written for him. He is just going to be a puppet for the Democrats.

Seriously, I hope that if McCain & Palin win they could turn around this NAFTA crap that Bill Clinton snuck under our radars. Our economy would be so much better now if we Americans were more reliant on our own country! I'm not saying that it isn't nice to find a good deal on something, but I have been trying to find things that aren't made in China and it is getting harder. I used to be proud to purchase something made in the USA (and still am when I can find them), but now even if it was made in Bangladesh or somewhere I'm happy just to know it wasn't made in China!

Yep. She's a hottie, but what really got me was the way she has been raising her kids. She does everything she does and manages to raise a son who wants to serve his country and she has that new baby with Down Syndrome. Five kids!

Amen to overturning that NAFTA crap. And good luck to all of us trying to find stuff that isn't made in China.

I think Obama would be a great leader and his choice of VP was great. It will be interesting to see how John handles himself at the RNC. Thats when I will make my choice.

If his handlers think this will win over Hilary supporters, I believe they are wrong. Governor Palin's views are much more conservative, and I don't think Hilary's fans are going to vote for her simply for her gender.

Your just jealous 'cause you can't be vice president. Alaska has a complex economy affected by national and international politics, the weather, etc. I think she's an incredibly strong woman, a real role model for real women, not like freakish, power hungry, Hilary.

Alaska is not a good training ground for someone that is second in line to run the country. Being the mayor of a town of less than 10,000 is not good training ground for someone to be second in line to run the country. Being a soccer mom and head of the PTA is not good training ground to be second in line to run the country.

Anyone remember "Brownie" the person put in charge of FEMA that had the qualifications to run a major government agency by being the head of the Arabian Horse Association.

What is McCain thinking? There are a huge amount of strong, smart women that are much more qualified than this woman. She has no qualifications for this job. We are talking about someone that could become president because McCain cannot continue his duties. And at McCain's age and medical history it isn't a stretch to think it may happen.

Sure Sarah Palin is a strong woman, and a great role model. But she has power and corruption issues as shown in everything I have read regarding the investigation on her misconduct and abuse of power. If that isn't freakishly power hungry I don't know what is.

McCain could have pick one of 20 women in politics that have more experience and better proven track records that are great role models. McCain has shot himself in the foot by picking Palin.

The fact that she's a strong woman is what I find appealing to her. Yes, she has some issues with the brother-in-law thing. But the only reason they're an issue is because it's a public controversy. This same thing happens all the time in corporate America and nobody blinks an eye about it. And who really knows what's going on there anyway. The guy may have pushed a little too far on an issue because he thought he would get some favoritism.

Palin brings to the table exactly what everyone in America has been griping about and wanting. Reform of government with a demand of fundamental responsibility from the good ole boy network. Yes Alaska is small, but none the less she's taken on corruption and not looked back doing it. That's more than we can say for either McCain, Obama or Biden. Her actions may be aggressive, but at least they're action and not empty political promises.

That's funny. LOL You are right about Palin. And that Hillary: I found out from a reliable source who knows her personally, not that I would name the person, that the reason Monica and all Bill's other affairs didn't bother her was because both Bill and Hill were "swingers". Ew, yucky!
