They should throw the book at the driver for leaving the scene.

So let me get this straight?..... This pickup truck was still driving down the road after it/he hit another person?? It doesn't look like that truck would make it too far in the condition depicted in this photo?!?!

"Tulsa Police say a northbound pickup truck struck a man crossing the highway at 46th Street North and then struck the center median wall before fleeing north to Owasso early Friday morning."

No, just one person then the center median wall then on down the road they went. Driver would most likely not be at fault if they would have stayed put. Has to be more to their reasoning for leaving the scene.

Very Sad but why do people cross busy hiways, espicailly at night in the middle of contruction zones and why do people not call cabs when they need to.

Drunk & driving = not good Hit & run = not good
But....what was someone doing walking around at 46th St N & 169 after midnight?
Almost makes me wonder if there is not a whole bunch more to this story!
In any case, sad for all those involved.

Was it a construction worker or a suicide? One does not simply cross 169 at 46th St. N.

The man was actually lying in the middle of the east bound off ramp from 169. I saw him laying there. Gruesome. People were stopping and I called 911 thinking maybe it was a motorcyclist who had crashed. the truck was long gone.

I'm pretty sure that area of 169 is under construction. My guess is this guy was a construction worker. Prayers to the family of the man who died.

It was after midnight .. the construction workers are not on site at that time. Otherwise, there would have been lights in that area.
I can't imagine why someone would be out on the highway like that unless their car broke down. What a tragic way to perish. RIP

Oh really? Nothing about drunk was mentioned in first story and then I see an update added at 9:27am that was after my post and it only says: "Police say alcohol was a factor in the accident." Nothing mentioned if it was driver or dead guy. Care to post a link that says otherwise? Or are you just assuming the driver because he left the scene?

You have good points here. I just know sometimes the construction crews do work at night. I was just thinking that could have been a possibility. As for lights in that area, I don't think that would have mattered much if this guy was in fact drunk. And my thought on that is he was. I'm with you on the car/truck broke down if the construction crews weren't there.

usually the driver or drivers involved if alcohol mentioned. i get that from the stories that end up in Tulsa World or here. have to figure trying to drive that wreck down the highway and leaving the scene. if he was sober and stayed he would not have been arrested because another person walked illegally across the highway or along it.

Story doesn't say the driver was charged with DUI or anything - so maybe it was the pedestrian. I can't imagine why else he would be on 169 at that time....

Thanks! So it is safe to say you are an idiot because my post was before the word alcohol was ever mentioned? Further more if I had wanted to post something from kjrh, I would have gone to their site but I didn’t. I simply posted from what this site reported. I understand this may be a little above your head but kiss my a/ss just the same.
