I have had pit bull's for years, they have never shown aggression toward anyone. Pit Bulls are good natured dogs if raised properly and breed properly. It's the outlaw breeder and owners who make these docile, lovable dogs the way they are. Every dog has the potential to be viscous if mistreated. Cocker spaniels are being returned to the ASPCA because of in breeding making the dogs temperament not normal for their breed. Puria recognized a pit bull named Norman for exceptional behavior saving his owners life this year. Pit Bulls are also being used as therapy dogs. Its not the dogs you need to be afraid of its the owners.

You people are so flipping stupid when it comes to fax's about pit bulls it hurts. The first pit bulls were used as sitters to children of wealth parents and are very docile in nature. Its only when they were trained and breed for fighting that some have a bad temperment this does not by any means make all pit bulls bad. I hate people who go by wrong hear say and think they have a leg to stand on with the info they offer to the rest of the world just goes to show how ignorance is the norm these days. People its called some real research and get the faxs before passing on all the ignorance the world is full of these days. YES I own Two pits and red nose and a blue nose pit. I also run a day care out of my home and we keep special need kid and my dogs are their therapy. Its called animal therapy my dogs lay there and let the kids pet them till their fur falls out and lick and play the entire time never showing any kind of aggression. They love kids and love being around them. They are the sweetest dogs of their breed and by the way there are several different breeds of pitt bulls and that is where the aggressive breeds come from. We have no right with inner species breeding when you mess with the D.N.A. what do you expect to happen. a TRUE pit that has not been bread or taught to fight have no desires to do so. Its only when man inflicts it on them that are become a danger. So unleash all you anger and aggressiveness on man not beast dogs do as they are taught or introduced to do they are not natural killers like you closed minded people here make them out to be.

So next time you decide to slander This loving breed know all the fax's so you don't look like an idiot to the world.

Yep, I use my Pitties for only one thing: Loving, hugging, playing, socializing and did I say they are consummate bedwarmers and used as therapy dogs?(Okay, I couldn't stop at one thing) Oh yeah, I forgot: 2 are retired from doing Search and Rescue.
In your context: US Marines are only good for Killing, we've never built schools, hospital and homes.
If you are to be believed, German Shepherds should only be used by Police Departments and sheep-herders. They are Not loved by families or trained to do search and rescue.
The only things you said that makes any iota of sense was about the dogs being Loose and being sick and tired of hearing about kids being mauled.
I have 1 pure breed pit, 1 mixed breed (beagle-Pittuie cross), 1 Am-Staff and 1 German Shepherd. All are rescued. All are house dogs and are family members. None roam or allowed to show any signs of aggression. Heck, you are in more danger of injury by being beaten to death by their tails than anything else.
Judge the Deed, Not the Breed.
I hear you man ! Why would anyone want to kill
our Pets. If a person trains there pets to fight ,
they should be hung from there balls and the dog should be put to sleep. Because there is little or no chance it would every recover from the abuse. I myself have a Rescue Dog, Staffordshire
Terrior. She and my cat sleep in the same bed, and she has never showed any sign of aggresion. You stand a better chance of getting bite by me!

I own two Pit Bull Terriers and have been around them for years. THEY ARE NOT BORN KILLERS! It is very sad anytime a dog attack occurs. But, only the misinformed (or stupid) believe Pit Bulls are the problem. The REAL problem is the thugs and lowlifes abusing animals purposely to make them mean! These people have no respect for anyones life..adult or child! That's not the dogs fault?? IF a dog attacks and has to be killed, the owner should be held fully responsible.

Those who pop off about ALL Pit Bulls should be killed obviously missed the reports about Shepherds, Dobbie's, Rotti's, MIXED BREEDS, even toy breeds that have attacked. Pits are NOT listed by the CDC as being the main problem and their numbers include Pit Bull MIXES. MOST thugs and backyard breeders do NOT know what a pure bred pit bull is! Their dogs, mostly responsible for attacks, are inbred mixes who have been abused severely and taught to be mean.

The media is so ready to jump on ‘the pit bull’ story, they broadcast incorrect reports. The ball keeps rolling because of the stupidity and fear. In MANY cases, when further studied, it's found the attack dog or dogs were NOT Pit Bull Terriers.....they were mixed breeds.

The American Pit Bull Terrier was called the Nanny dog because they were loyal, non-aggressive, highly intelligent dogs. What has happened to the breed is that sub humans have mixed breeds, abused, neglected, tortured and forced them to be mean. IT is now being reported some are injecting dogs with steroids to induce high aggression levels.

Blame and take a stand to prosecute the ignorant owners, street thugs and dog fighters! They are the REAL problem...not the breed. You should not blame a dog breed for what sub humans force them to do.

Any dog can bite. Any dog can attack. But again, it's not the DOG, it is the slugs of society that own the dog and do not care what happens to anyone. They are just torturing dogs to fight or attack. A breed should not suffer for the ignorance and sadistic, uncivilized, treatment they receive from sub humans.

Why would someone have 5 pitbulls? I'm not saying they are all bad but if there is more than one around, I definitely get nervous. They should be banned, and if not banned, then only allowed by very responsible owners!!

Why? Oh, let's guess....ignorant humans again? A possible link to dog fighting? Irresponsible owners who don't take care of their children, much less dogs and taught the dogs to attack? Any way you look at it, owners should be held accountable for what their dogs do. When that happens they will think less about abusing dogs to make them mean and more about their sorry butts landing in jail.

Well, some of this may be true, but my inlaws had a great pit bull - my kids when small would crawl all over him and he NEVER turned on ANYONE to his death. He was a great dog to have. We currently have a female pit and she is WONDERFUL. We have people over all the time and she has NEVER turned on ANYONE. I would hope that if I were attacked, she would protect us. She gets antzy when we hug, but she loves people and we have people over regularly. She barks when the UPS guy comes, but, again, she is one of the best dogs we have ever had. And I think some of you are wrong (brother is a dog trainer and he agrees) when you say all pits are evil. The bloodline is important and the parents are important. We were very careful about that part of it. We can take her out in public (on a leash of course). But if she gets loose, she doesn't go around attacking people - that is really naive! People propogate myths. And these dogs get a bad name because of a few - of course, those few get the headlines and they all get stereotyped unfortunately...

I'm sure that you are telling the truth - why wouldn't you be? But ... but in my nice sleepy neighborhood two different pitt bulls have attacked a pug and a schnauzer. Both dogs required surgery - the pitts are owned by different families, both of whom are low-key ... neither of these stories made the news, and I suspect that this kind of stuff goes on all the time in neighborhoods across America but isn't reported. There goes your "myth" theory ... neither dog has ever attacked a human but the devastation to both of these little dogs and their families can not be a fluke event - you KNOW it occurs on the regular. Yes your dog or dogs are nice, I believe that, but many pitts do attack on the regular, but it's usually not humans that bare the brunt of it, so no news coverage. Wise up a little and be honest about the nature of many pitt bulls.

People filled with hate abuse dogs and make them mean; so, it's obvious that banning a breed of dog is not the solution. Instead neuter all the stupid people that promote hate, including those that promote hatred of a specific breed. This way there will be no more hate in the world, or mean pit bulls.
