[QUOTE U.S. Rep Raul Grijalva., a Tucson Democrat who is co-sponsor of the act, said the loss of opportunity is a loss for the students and for the nation.

"This is not only about being humanitarian or doing a charity, it is about investing in something healthy for our community future," he said.
[/QUOTE]
us representative raul grijalva is a pro-illegal that shouldn't be holding office in america. he doesn't represent americans. he represents illegals.

"loss for the nation?"

what nation is he talking about?

fact: EVERY year, 100+ BILLION dollars is siphoned out of the social security fund to finance all these FREE services granted to the illegals by guys like raul.

contrary to rauls assertion that we are losing out by preventing these illegals from getting a FREE education at OUR expense,

..I see more opportunities opening up to americans in need. LEGAL citizens that deserve priority treatment over NON-citizens.

the way it should be.

Now that is hilarious. This politician knows damn well illegals cost america a fortune but he supports them because companies like walmart and mcdonalds pay him to.

You are so right about that. What I don't understand is why in the hell a lot of Americans can't grasp that fact.

Good question, all the Mexicans I know are aware of it.

Then we can educate them and give them jobs and also citizenship here so they can try to better their own country first through sending money back into Mexico. This isn't going to happen overnight. Mexico, at this time in her history, has faltered and misstepped. Our country has the wealth and the resouces to help out out neighbors in need. Especially our close ones and allies.
I think we can suck it up as Americans for a few generations and pay a few more tax dollars per person as to help educate and feed their people as a show of our goodwill and a gesture of humanitarian support.
It's their money, they earned it, they can do what they wish with it. If they want to earn like crazy here, and then send the majority of it back to Mexico, who are you to say it's wrong? They pay their taxes, they should be entitled to do with the remainder as they wish.
No?
NO! They don't pay their taxes if they are ILLEGAL. If they are paying taxes it is with a stolen or fraudulent SS#. This, too, is a crime and should be punished. Why don't YOU suck it up and pay for them yourself? Until then, why dont you GFY?

It's good that they are dropping out. Think about it - whose jobs would they be wrestling away upon graduation? The jobs of those who are citizens of this country.

Yes it does, moron. In-state tuitions are for residents of the state. ILLEGAL ALIENS are not residents. Sounds like an ill-gotten reward to me but I wouldn't expect a mouth-breathing moron such as yourself to see it.

In state tuition is a form of financial aid. It is done to try to encourage local students to stay in the state and spend their money in the state to keep schools going. It is purely an economic venture schools have. When I was in college, I had to prove I legally lived in the state in order to qualify for in state tuition.

This is just a very broad form of financial aid open to everyone who meets the criteria as opposed to loans, grants, scholarships and such which may have different criteria based on anything from skin color, gender, background, grades, previously attended schools, etc.

Tuition breaks for students should be only for legal residents if the schools are public. Anyone who is not legally entitled to this break should pay full tuition.

If private schools want to make their own rules, so be it. But they better not be getting public money in any form.

I am not saying we should deny the children of illegals a higher education if they want to risk applying for one. I am just saying that it should not be at taxpayer expense nor should we support even one little bit schools that are supporting illegal activity. Private schools can set their own rules to varying degrees. Heck when I was sent to a private high school, I learned the hard way that they did not have to teach math and science to the level required by public schools. I went into college, as a pre-med/pre-vet (Bio) major a full year behind where I needed to be academically - though I was an honors student my last two years of high school. I also had a learning disability that went undetected because the private school did not have to provide services for struggling students or do any form of evaluations. It would be a public university that would finally note and help me ID the disability. So let private schools do what they want, just not with public funds.

Leave the public universities and colleges to those of us here legally and busting our tails to help our kids.

No kidding. And AHHHNOLD wants to raise our state tax an entire penny - that will cost the average Californian an extra one hundred plus dollars a year! Part of that money will be used to coddle anchor babies who don't belong in our schools to begin with.

Arnie is really flipflopping huh???

I remember interviews where he was coming down on illegals with a hard hand. Now... He is trying to do things that will benefit illegals to varying degrees.

As an immigrant himself, you would hope he would understand the importance of following the laws. He sure as hell benefitted!

Then again, he was also poorly cast as Conan and as someone who grew up on the books, well... But that is another debate for another forum.:P

The person in my county fighting the hardest against illegals has an immigrant wife himself (legal).

Well, Arnie is a RINO and what is to be expected from them?

Nope... not to our knowledge... She is from Sweden BTW and her hubby has taken a lot of flack from the Hispanic and Latinos here because he makes it known his wife is a legal immigrant BUT she is not a Mexican - yeah, make it racial again...

So would they feel better about his fighting illegals if his wife from from Central America instead of Scandinavia? Last I checked, immigration is immigration regardless of the origin.

"I could no longer study because I don't have a Social Security number, so I started working full time," Pineda said.

She couldn't attend college because of her illegal status, so she started working full time without proper documentation knowing she's in violation of the law.

My God! These people just don't get it!

How in the hell are any of them going to get a job even if they graduate from college? They have no social security number and no documentation. Oh, I forgot. They'll work illegally.

Silly, they just steal s.s. numbers and use them. documenatation is not needed if you have a stolen s .s. number.
