"hate rallies" is used to indicate that there are certain sects of the republican rallies (not the republican party itself) that voice their opinions loudly against tolerance for minorities of race, homosexuality, etc
i.e., there are a lot of racist, gay-bashing bigots at the republican rallies.
now, considering that one of the main characteristics of liberals is that they wish to promote the civil rights of such people, i think it'd be quite hard to find, as you have said, "just as many hate rallies for Obama if you look."
i really don't know what you're talking about. unfortunately, i don't think you can explain, since it's equally clear that neither do you.
