The sooner we realize that Bush and friends want more money before leaving office the better off we will be!
The Saudis put it very bluntly the answer was NO!

They own our banks they basically control our economy, I guess they can say NO! Hell even Israel gave George a bike to ride!

What have they done? Anyone for 4 more years of the future Grandfather in office??

Every car and truck could have been running "FREE" on solar power years ago.

But the elite criminals who rule over the law makers and the presidents, keep this technology from you in order to drain your wallet and purse until nothing remains.

However, the big problem is the one the rulers don't see coming.

Their greed, their continual wars, their denial to build border walls to keep America secure, will all come to a head at once creating civil war, economic collapse, nuclear war, and then the government will fall.

And after many long years of war, those who are still alive and have gathered together in groups will begin the task of trying to rebuild what the greedy ruling elite destroyed because of their greed.

I doubt very seriously if the gas prices are going to go back down! They're going to continue to rise. I was told that the gas prices are expected to get to $8 by next year.

After awhile no matter what your salary is everyone is going to have to work a part time job. For those who eventually don't probably would be looked at as strange. It's ridiculous how EVERYTHING has/is going up!!!

Until our spinless lawmakers get some backbone and stand up to the folks that oppose domestic drilling and new refineries, this will continue.
We have plenty of oil that could be pumped from our own wells.

The merger of Exxon-Mobil and Amoco-BP didn't help either. No competition.

Here is where we need to stop and I do mean STOP! Lets look at this gasoline issue another way. America is a spoilt nation and as spoilt people we have had everything we wanted on a minutes notice. The government knows that we will not size down on our own to keep America from going under from so much nonsense spending and throw away generation. So they will force us to! Its like having a child that knows nothing about sacrifice, responsibility, or dealing with serious issues. When things get out of control the child doesn't have the knowledge of how to get out of a big mess so the parent has to use a different approach to get the point across. Every time you see the gas price go up, think about one or two things you can do without. Is the cell phone necessary? The beauty shop appointment, the eating out, the mall shopping, those extra trips that could be rolled into one, the name tag clothing, the smoking, the sodas....and the list goes on. Petroleum is used for other things beside gasoline like plastic etc: When we as the common man (who by the way has control) learn how to clean up and toss out some spoilt habits, gasoline prices will be sky high. If we all will understand that what you do effects us all, the we all can get together and effect what the gasoline prices are....think about it!

It will hit $4 within the next few weeks around here (it's already done it in Chicago). We'll be looking at $5 soon thereafter. Maybe the people that build cars will decide to use a technology that doesn't require gasoline? Yeah, I know.

I am in the Chicago metro area, and it is $4.10/gallon, about 2 miles west at $4.20, and this is about 25 miles south of downtown, where it is around $4.40 gallon.

I know where I'm at that $140 barrel is $5/gallon and we are around $127barrel trading in NewYork, so I am already looking at gas around $4.50 in June in the suburbs, and around $4.70 gallon downtown

This is only going to get worse. Bush said it best, we need to "Get Off Oil". The halt to the SPR was a small start.

Filler Up brings about a good point with the Solar Energy. Also, WAY Back in the day, they had steam powered vehicles and vehicles that already ran on alcohol with very little emissions. The Oil Companies got their greedy hands on those ideas and hence are locked away (probably lost/destroyed by now).

Back in the 70's when OPEC decided to pull an oil embargo, Congress tried to step in and not only did prices stay high, but then there were lines/restrictions as well. Now they want to tax the profits again and create the same dilemma.

The only realistic solution in the short term is to stand up to the damn treehuggers and start drilling (in the Dakotas, in ANWAR, and other areas that are known to have vast amounts of oil within the US). We also need to build more refineries, or at the VERY Least expand the ones already in use.

And ethanol, if that's the preferred alternative, needs to be produced off biowaste/switchgrass, NOT Corn or Sugar. Food is also expensive enough as it is and taking away from supply to produce an alternative fuel is just plain flat-out stupid.

Ok, I could go on (about the hippocrites and all) but I've ranted enough for now.

I understand what you are saying, but what is wrong with being spoiled (or as you say spoilt)?? And, why should we stop? We work hard everyday just to enjoy life and why should we stop or cut down? No, the government is the one who should stop not us. I am sick and tired of hearing how WE need to cut back, WE need to make changes in our life. What about the government? What changes are they making, how are they cutting back?

I do realize that the more we use services the more the prices go up, but what do we do? Not enjoy life? I am not going to not do anything just because I'm afraid the price might go up because of demand.

Meanwhile back at the Exxon lunchroom...

"Please pass the wasabi and soy sauce. Oh, and I'll have another order of those spicy tuna rolls. By the way, wanna take a ride on my Scarab this weekend? I just had both superchargers rebuilt on the 502s." How do I afford the fuel? That's easy... America's buying!

We have our congress to blame for a lot of this. our prez tries to do something about oil prices and is fought every step of the way by our dumbocrats in congress. oil prices were pretty much stable and gas was reasonable until the dems took control of congress two years ago. If a democrat is elected president we will be in more trouble than we are now.

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD !!!!!! Why are we not out in the streets in front of the white house protesting all this? Remember the movie where the guy threw the tv out the window and yelled he could not take it any longer? WEll why arent people doing something that will bring "traffic to a halt like parking their cars on the beltway and leaving them as a protest movement?" It would be saying the country is at a standstill and enough is enough !!! Why wait for the election when it will probably be business as usual?

I have been reading for years about gas alternatives...solar powered, steam powered and others...Big business meaning the oil industry couldn't care less about alternatives...they are in the oil business....

We as a country have to develop a consservative mind set...car pooling, hybrids and just reducing our dependence on oil...it's not just cars but everything...until there is such a surplus that prices will have to go down...but...the well to do and wealthy will never stop because they will always be able to afford whatever the gas, grocery or other prices are....

Some of our colleages believe that there is a corrolary between the gas prices and the crime rate. My secretary told me today that the gas prices seem to parrallel the amount of crime and serious crime such as the D.C. streets and especially around Benning Road and Minnesota Avenue.
