The traffic between the United States and Venezuela has increased 300% in the last 10 years. Remember, that this traffic is not just Americans or Residents of the United States travelling to Venezuela. over 60% of these travellers come from Canada as Canada only has 3 flights a week from Toronto to Caracas. I am from Venezuela, and the issues are not what they seem. Chavez is a horrible leader and has destroyed my country. I had to leave because of him. Venezuela has fallen from the most developed and in the late 90's stable country to the most backwards, dirty, and poor (ironic with our oil?). Chavez talks about the elite, however it is Chavez and his government who travel on the American flights to the United States for weekend shopping trips to Miami and NewYork. If you have not lived in Venezuela keep your comments to yourself, as you don't know how opressed we are.

Someday maybe the people will rise up against this retarted leader. Stop blaim all world problems on US, maybe he should buy food, medicine, improvements to the living condtions. Just a few things he can do rather than changed time zones, buy weapons, and work with groups like FARC

Their country. Their oil.

Unlike Bush, Chavez won the majority of the popular vote when he assumed office. Maybe others don't respect the voice of the majority regardless of their ignorance. Our electorate doesn't seem that well informed.

It's their country. We keep bailing out the great bankers of the industrialized world because they are based in OUR country. Let them run theirs. We can make our own mistakes; let them make theirs.

You prove your ignorance about Chavez.

In 1998 Chavez won the Presidency with 56% of the vote. In his first re-election he won 60% of the vote.

You seem to believe the propaganda of OUR current elected officials 100% without checking facts.

The confrontation between these two countries with
the USA, will destroy all the progress made through
out these peaceful times.

Confrontation, war will only create death, widows,
orphans, mentally disturb people and mutilated war
heros!
Fuck confrontation. Bring the dialogue back, or pay the price.

Venezuelan airlines have some of the HIGHEST CRASH percentages in the world. Some of the worst maintenance reports, have repeatedly violated flight-plans to short-cut flight times. The police are corrupt, the Guadia Nacional are corrupt, and the government is OK with it because they're all on the take, and the TAKE is from the PEOPLE! I know a few people that purposely drive very well maintained mechanically old beat-up cars or trucks so the police don't stop them for donations! If you LOOK like you have something, they'll take it! THEY are the the police! It will all be OK when everyone is poor!
Venezuela is 95% very poor people.
MANY of them are refugees from Colombia, when Colombia was really struggling... when Venezuela WAS a more developed country. Chavez (no university education) appeals to the poor people. He has marvelous construction projects, building thousands of apartments so people can move from their tin and red-clay brick shacks. He is NOT building infrastructure, factories, technology.

The reason he has the won elections is simple

"UNEDUCATED PEOPLE SEE HIM AS A REVOLUTIONARY"
and
"EDUCATED PEOPLE SEE THE CRIME AND MISMANAGEMENT OF POWER AND FUNDS AGAINST THE EDUCATED WORKING CLASS"

If you haven't been here, aren't here now, or are a drain on YOUR society, then move here... make it 95.00001%. Chavez doesn't believe in privatized VENEZUELAN-owned business, he believes in total control. HE IS A DICTATOR. He has taken over OIL, Telecommunications, Electric, and abuses the broadcast airwaves on a daily basis. Just stay tuned in your air-conditioned home in your Laz-E-Boy recliner eating microwaved popcorn, and drinking budweiser and watch.
