Do you think it got something to do with the fact that both countries last week expelled the U.S. ambassadors? What's next? harboring terrorism,WMD what? Maybe they gonna find some info in Reyes's Lap Tops were it says that Bolivia is supporting the FARC too. Same M.O. different Country.

Let's see, the snip says;
"This was not a hasty decision," said David Johnson, the State Department's point man for counter-narcotics, as he presented the findings. "Bolivia remains a major narcotics producing country and its official policies and actions have caused a significant deterioration in its cooperation with the United States."

He noted that Morales, a former coca growers' union leader, was encouraging farmers to boost production of the leaf which many Bolivians chew as a mild stimulant but is also the precursor for cocaine. There was a 14 percent increase in land used for coca cultivation last year increasing the potential cocaine yield from 115 to 120 metric tons, he said.

Looks pretty obvious. Anyone with these statistics is looking out for MONEY, not the betterment of the world. I personally have no problem with DRUGS... it's the illegal aspect of them I am against. Allowing the harvest and sale of illegal drugs, to countries where they are illegal, is an international crime, and it seems basket-weaving, coca-leaf-chewing Evo is persoanally sitting right where he belongs... civil unrest, loss of good friends, and new THUG-friends promoting his drug trade.

You're a genius. Who would have ever thought that Bolivia produces coca leaves? Coca leaves which are refined into umm, umm, oh right... cocaine. I guess that all those millions of bushes in Chapare, the leaves of which I saw workers picking, were actually tomato plants. And that all the leafy chews in the Bolivian workers' mouths here are tomato leaves. I must have forgotten that people here have thousands of years of tradition of chewing tomato leaves - not coca leaves. Maybe you're really concerned about the cost of your blow going up? Moron.

dvd, I guess for you the US can do no right!? It seems that the US has been very patient with the ambassador from Venezuela. But when it came to light his FARC connections, you think it's alright for him to stay?? Or are you a FARC / Cocaine supporter? What would Chavez or Morales have done if there was even just a rumor that a US ambassador was involved in some illegal, para military organization? Evo is scrambling (like blaming the US ambassador) in a desperate attempt to regain control. Chavez is paranoid and unstable. He believes that the US government wants to kill him. I would guess that you agree. Besides, he was just reacting to the State Department "justly" expelling the Venezuelan ambassador. Anyway, if the US is as bad as you claim, then perhaps you should consider relocating to Venezuela and let tio Hugo take care of you.

The US marihuana production is bigger in profits than the corn production, Colombia is the biggest cocaine producer in the world and even with the "USA intervention" the production increased 25% the first semester of the year 2008 and the US is the biggest cocaine consumer in the world but somehow this is Venezuela's fault.
I like the USA but i don't like what Bush and CO. are doing to it and i don't like their foreign pollicy like much of the US citizens don't like it eigther

So you are implying that the U.S. should not do anything to fight against the huge drug problem?? Only a fool will deny how drugs have destroyed families and lives. I hold that the pusher is more culpable than the poor addict. The pusher is getting rich on someone else's misery. Also, do you really believe that you know what the president and his cabinet are doing? How do you know you wouldn't make the same decisions if the intelligence they have was made available to you?

The problem with DVD is that he loves living a good life and does not practice what he preaches and believes in. He is a supporter of Chavez and yet will not point out what he does wrong..since Hugo cannot in DVD’s eyes do wrong! DVD lives in Miami or close to it and is from Venezuela, but will not live there because he loves to live high on the hog and not worry about the high crime wave that is hitting Caracas, the shortage and high prices of basic food products. Sure, gasoline is cheap, but you cannot drink it! He supports a person who has not decor and is uncivil to go to another country and call the leader of that country a devil, who calls another former leader a fascist and then calls America a bunch of Sh*t Yankees (mierda yankis) and to go to hell (para el carajo los yankis). This is who DVD supports and is mesmerized with. Hugo who has threaten to go into Bolivia if Evo is removed..so much for democracy and keeping los yankis out of Latin America unless you are Hugo. Yeah, DVD is a leech and likes to suckle America’s breast as long as he does not have to go back to Venezuela and really live under the banner of “socialismo o muerte.”

FYI a snip from 23-Aug-08 ... just so people know:

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (AP)— The Dutch Navy and a squad of U.S. Coast Guard raiders seized 4.6 tons (4,200 kilograms) of cocaine from a Panamanian-flagged freighter that had set sail from Venezuela, Dutch and U.S. officials said Friday.

The Dutch Navy said it is the largest haul of cocaine it has ever intercepted.

U.S. Coast Guard law enforcement detachments have been embedding with forces of allied countries to seize drug shipments through the Caribbean, a major trafficking corridor, said Petty Officer Jennifer Johnson, a Coast Guard spokeswoman in Miami.

She said the Americans were still aboard the Dutch ship, along with the detained freighter crew and the seized cocaine.

This is significant for several reasons:
1. It confirms that Venezuela is now the #1 port of departure for drug traffic in the Caribbean.
2. It shows that the US Coast Guard and law enforcement are working closely together with foreign countries. Two years ago I started posting about how international law enforcement were working together stopping drug shipments from Venezuela. Earlier in 2006 France had stopped an 18 ton shipment, and Mexico had stopped a 5 1/2 ton shipment, also originating from Venezuela.

Strategically, the Caribbean is extremely important for the drug trade. end quote

And Chavez breaks ties with the US Drug Enforcement... hmmmmmmmm?

I would never say that, on the contrary Venezuela and Bolivia rightfully should enforce the law in their own countries. But we have Evo who's only qualification to be president is that he was the leader of the coca growers union in Bolivia; where over 90% of the coca grown is used to make cocaine. Then there is Chavez who has some insane compulsion to do anything to be the nemesis of the U.S. He really thinks that president Bush is in Washington wringing his hands mumbling "what will I do, what will I do about Hugo!"

What i was trying to say was that the US shouldn't be blaming others when their own drugs problems are a lot worse. About Bolivia i only know what i read in he news so don't know shit and yes Bush is in Washington wringing his hands mumbling "what will I do, what will I do about Hugo!

Bush was right and you are wrong.
If Iraq did have weapons of mass destruction then why did they not find them?
Or better, why did Sadaam Hussein ( the man who slaughtered five thousand Kurds in Halajba), not use them to protect himself and instead allow himself to be hung??

Some of the stuff the right-wing supporters write is unbelievable but this is the worst so far by a distance.
Next they will be saying the world is flat and the Earth is the centre of the universe and, of course, God made man and women in a Garden called Eden.

Awaiting the usual response - insults, drunk etc.
