You have to visit Norway. It is a lovely country indeed. The only disappointment is the people. They are sullen and quiet. I have lived in America and seen Ohio where some of my relatives live.

Loved Norway! I was in Denmark, Norway, Sweden, and Finland, and Norway was the most beautiful by far. The train called the Flamsbana that takes you up to the city of Flam way up in the mountains of Norways was GORGEOUS and on the train ride up we saw numerous waterfalls.

Beautiful country!

Were you surprised how Norway is expensive? That is what tourists complain about. Norwegians are compensated for the higher tax by having some social wellfare like free health care, and child welfare. Older people and disabled are also taken care of. Higher education (colledges/Universities) are also free theoretically.

I went over 8 years ago now (before the Euro), and I believe at the time the US dollar was worth about 6-7 Norwegian marks. Other than that I don't really remember, the trip itself that I went on was basically all inclusive, the only thing I paid for while I was there was souveniers... and my genuine Norwegian sweater was EXPENSIVE!:o)

I don't know about the colleges/universities being free either. I do know in Denmark they did not have college/universities, instead they had trade/technican programs that people went through, but I don't know whether or not they were free for citizens.
