Zuku Slashes Kenya Internet Prices

It's been a big year for Zuku of the Wananchi Group - they got new funding and the fibre cable reached in Kenya - they are a shareholder in TEAMS which is operational and have also bought capacity on Seacom.

Do not waste your time - Zuku are terrible - you will pay and never get service - if you try to complain you will never get anywhere - their managers ignore you and customer service will never respond to your calls. Worst customer service in Kenya which says a lot.

Can Zuku style up, their connection is terrible. Its now two weeks since they installed the net on my machines and every day i have to call to get connected. Their customer service is terrible. They dont assist at all. They are just out to get quick money. Zuku is a no no

I got 2 fantastic months with Zuku, speed always as it supposed to be, all fine and then ... BUM! They interrupted the service for "Upgrading". After the "Upgrade" my speed has gone from 1Mbps to average 200 and worste of it I payd 1 year in advance.

Beware of Zuku suprises! I read again and again their "Terms and Conditions" to see how to get a refund, and there is not even mention of it, so if I terminate my contract for LACK of promised service after only 2 months, having paid 1 year in advance I gave them over 40000 shillings gift. I'm trying now to switch to KDN, I don't know yet if they are better, but surely it takes a lot of efforts to be worste.

Where is the management of Zuku. These are serious accusations. Is it that they have too much money?? I think they need a mega law suit. They can not play with peoples minds and money like that. There must be a regulatory body that can ensure delivery. Days for ripping off Kenyans and its residents are over!! Watch this space all

Doesn't anyone have anything good to say about ZUKU. let me add my beef. The poorest customer service in the world. The agents have instructions not to give names of their superiors when you are finally connected. Connection takes min time of 10 minutes and calls are frequently dropped. Over all internet not up to the speeds paid for. TV ok since connection have had reason to complain every day, internet connection drops all the time. Come on ZUKU wwe all have paid for service dont rip us off!!!!!!!!!!

Surprised by all the not so glorious reviews here.I signed up for the 512kbps package (WIMAX) in December and was set up the following day. The connection has been stable.
Hope it stays this way.

It has gone off three or so times but I just unplugged and plugged it in and this solved the issue.

Since my last comments and a subsequent e mail to Zuku support a team was sent to my location. The TV receiver was up graded to a HD box. The internet modem was also up graded. The information I had was that the modem fitted earlier had issues, the management knew about the susceptibilities of this modem to dropped connections, a different version was connected
How ever replacement modem has a downside, it carries only one line. I had to supply a router if I wanted more than one computer connected at the same time.
The behavior of the new modem has seen an improvement. The browsing speeds are reasonably fast as I pay for 4 kmps. Since the upgrades I am satisfied, how long this will last only Zuku knows.

I got connected on the November first week. Truth be told, I have never had a problem with the connection. Was with another ISP but the connection used to time out almost everyday and when I called the customer care, the service is pathetic. I have called Zuku a couple of times and was served very well. I must say, they have a very professional way of handling customers. When is the fibre coming to South B. Also noticed you now offer TV with English packages. Which channels and how soon will I be getting a fibre connection.

Zuku has been a let down once again. Lost both TV and broad band connection Monday 24th January around noon, still without connectivity 7.15 am Friday. Intially Zuku support were helpful but it appears that as days progressed the Support team got fedup of in activity from the other departments of the organisation. When I requested the person at the support team that I be given the email of the of the CEO of Zuku I was glibly informed that it is against Zuku policy to give out any information regards the managemet officers of Zuku.
Through this forum I want to inform the Zuku CEO thst Zuku Support takes on responsibility and tries to find solutions for Clients which it has no capability of performing. Support team has been given Instructions that it is sacrilege to give names of Zuku management team. There is never a support supervisor on duty as when ever I have requested to speak to one I am informed he is not available. I could go on and on about the shortcomings of Zuku Support, the fault lies with the top management of Zuku.
Is the Zuku management going to credit my account for the days/hours I have been without connectivity.

I wish i read this before i paid like 3 weeks ago, they came with a box finally yesterday. And now i dont have shit to watch on tv after waiting 3 weeks for them. Now please how do you come over connect the box and leave with out checking out if there is a signal. I wasnt home so my help let them in. thier lines remain unanswerd. This is the biggest scam and i really wish people learn of this before paying these guy

when zuku works it works well, when it is down it stays down. call take over 15 minutes to answer. When you finally get through after half a dozen attempts support is know it all. caller is never put through to a superior. the person in charge never calls back.

Don't waste your time with Zuku. I believe there is something badly rotten with their management. I write them everyday complaining about speed and intermittent service, all they say is that they will get beck to me. it is now months on end, nothing done. Now the email I received last from then was a hike on WIMAX by kes500. Are these guys crazy? THIS IS A SCAM. IT IS A SCAM, A SCAM, A SCAM A SCAM, A SCAM..........
If anybody has an idea what we can do to squeeze good service from these guys, please share.

all yu complainants. yes zuku is far below standards when it comes to response. i too have had my fair share of complaints, recntly howevr saw some quick response n my intnet ws put to work in some 24hrs. they seem to be improving.
but the broadbnd speeds r low low, prhaps we r too many sharing the bandwidth in my area. i sugst they need to reduce the bandwidth sharers.

All am seeing here is total bullshit. Maybe you guys need to know that nothing on earth is perfect. But there are accepted Service Level Agreements. There is No ISP in Kenya that provides "Cheap" Internet. you are all on a shared platform. if you've got money sign up for Dedicated links and get the value of your money. Bandwidth is still expensive in Kenya and not all of us can afford to pay something like 7500 for a 256kbps dedicated link.
We have a long way to go. I enjoy ZUKU 256kbps When it's down I plug my Orange modem... Kwani hamna spare wheels in your cars??

Halisi are you being paid by zuku, service is poor you know we know. I paid for a service and i accept value for money. get a life stop defending the in defensible. I do keep a spare wheel takes all of 5 min to change not 5 days. first thing after change repair puncture. your annology stinks.
