Iran rules out suspending enrichment program

The Bush negotiation team failed.

Time for a smarter team.

It is result of Bush`s team negotiations. What can Bush and his negotiators make? They can only terrify Iranians and nothing more.
They should leave Iran in peace.

Iran did not capitulate, a good result. Iran is open to allow for additional inspections, including of military installations to verify that they are not making nuclear weapons, but only if they are allowed to enrich uranium on an industrial scale.

The West wants to have it both ways. On the one hand Iran must abandon its enrichment program, even though they are allowed to have such a program according to the NPT rules. Then they must allow for inspections that go further than what they would have to allow under the NPT rules, even if they did have an enrichment program, to make sure that they are indeed not enriching uranium.

Also, they have to agree to stay within the NPT framework and the additional restrictive rules. The NPT has a provision in it that allows countries to leave the treaty if the give a three month's notice.

Thing is that the NPT is not meant to be a restrictive treaty banning countries to make nuclear weapons. It is simply an agreement under which countries can acquire nuclear technology without that acquired technology being used to make nukes.

The bottom line is basically that: "If you want to make nukes, you got to do that on your own, not using the technology and materials that you get by virtue of being an NPT member"

Now, when Iran wanted to develop its nuclear industry, it could't acquire that within the usual NPT framework, because the US was treatening companies with sanctions if they ealt with iran. So, Iran acquired nuclear technology outside of the NPT on the black market.

Now, when this was uncovered and the IAEA chacked what Iran had done, they could not find any evidence that it was used for a weapons program. So, although Iran techically violated a part of the NPT, that violation had nothing to do with making nukes, rather it was merely about acquiring what they should have been able to acquire using the usual procedures.

Even if Iran had a weapons program, they would have done that on their own, not by diverting anything it got from the NPT. So, even that should not be punsihable, except that Iran could be kicked out of the NPT because we couldn't trust that anything they get would not be used for a weapons program.

But this is not what is going on. We want to deny Iran's right to have an indigenous enrichment program, just because they could theoretically use that to make nuclear weapons in the future.

Of course, we have the right to go to Iran and offer Iran a deal in which they agree not to enrich uranium in exchange for an incentives package. But if Iran doesn't agree, we then don't have the right to punish Iran, or even to say that "diplomacy has failed", that Iran is somehow defying us etc. etc.

We are the ones who want Iran to abandon certain rights. The moment we suggest that Iran must do this or that, we are the ones who are defying Iran's rights.

If we really care about nuclear weapons, then it is high time we take serious the fact that Iran wants to stay in the NPT (which they don't have to do), the fact that they are willing to allow for more inspections than they are legally obliged to admit etc. etc.

We need to have such inspections anyway, even if Iran were to suspend enrichment, to verify what they are doing. So, why not be more realistic about what can be achieved?

So, Iran is not the party that is inflexible. By insisting that Iran suspend enrichment, we are the inflexible party.

The solution seems simple. The Iranians are claiming a program for peaceful purposes. Other nations are murmuring of a last resort military option to defeat the program.

You simply say fine, why attack preemptively in this case. Proceed. Just remember that we will be watching, naturally, and if we detect a diversion to weapons we will roast your entire country as if so many shishkabob morsels.

We'll suspend attacking you, until you don't do what you say you plan to do. Then we reserve the right to massacre all lifeforms within the border of Iran. Have a nice day.

Iranian are convinced even if they give U S A a blank sighn peace of paper in regards to Nuclear matters, U S A will come with other excuses .One Is Iran is a suporter of terrorim this acusation will mean shutting Iran totaly out its foriegn affairs , since terrorim is an arbitrery label put any one who is showing insubordination to U S foriegn policy demand.

Being an Old country and aewly independant Iran must either captulate or be ready for a long hol, Because right wing America is amassing a fortune out thses crises and they will not lighten up soon.

How to negotiate with a stuborn arrogant power:

Make sure to ask in exchange for their endless demand that you ask some thing that they can not under any circumstanses give
Removal of foriegn armies in Persian Golf and see of Oman permenantly
A refradom be carried under UN auspices in region of Ahssa and Qatief in Suidi Arabia to see if they want to be free from Suadi authorities.

In exchange for that Iran will shut its nucleasr activities all togather.
