At Holar, Hjaltadal, they've at least got a real university: where, if you want to entertain yourself with academic games like the shape of the Universe or the number of angels on the head of a pin, you've got to live a monastic life on a pittance and not expect payment and pampering like modern university students in the rest of the West. Your "payment" is love of learning, the true academe and, if you get free bread and water, that's a luxury.
