[China] Having fun at Vietnam's expense

They are allowing it because when the economy in China worsens, they will need a diversion, and this agressive imperial adventure will fit the bill.

But they will lose, just as they did in 1979.
Vietnam will be China's "Vietnam" if they try it!

Many westerners cannot believe that China can host a successful Olympic. They also have trouble believing that China has freedom of speech.

As long as you are not plotting to assassinate the Chinese president, you can say anything you want. I have read stupid blogs that talked about the Chinese airforce shooting down an F-22 in the Fujian province. There is no censorship.

How about if someone talked about putting down the CCP? Will there be no censorship then as well?

In Thailand it is against the law to say bad things about Buddhism,and the King.
In The USA if you talked about putting down the US government, or even showing your sympathy to Al Qaeda or Ossaman Bin Laden you will surely be in jail.
Every country has its own taboos, and people should know which line is not to be crossed.

In my experience, Chinese people who criticise the Chinese government just because they are largely a representation of the CCP are regarded as crazy and to be pittied rather than worth arguing with.

If an internet thread is constructive and polite then it is frequently allowed to run for a time. Criticism of China is monitored because sometimes we say something intelligent that should be and can be acted upon - not everything we say is dismissed.

Look at what happen US and France invasion into Vietnam during '60s - Total FAILURES!
Questions that need to be answer.
Maybe China can learn from these mistakes. War is never the answer , most likly will cost more to any country that invade another country, How do terrorisism come about? Why make more enemy(s)?
What are the future consequences and will children be free from fear? Do you want long term freedom or short term freedom?

The modern answer to war is the sponsorship of a revolution which results in a government who represents your interests. However, sometimes the puppet turns round and spits in your face as in the cases of Robert Mugabe and Saddam Hussain.

But assuming that I did have children and they have children or even that they live in the same country as me then it is their future to live not mine. We cannot determine what that future will be because nothing is permenant. All we can do is to teach them good values and to use their minds so that they can make the best of what life offers them.

"Old China" is cockney rhyming slang for the word "mate". Mate is a word which can mean friend.

I agree that for vast numbers of people life is downright unfair. But should we just sit down and cry or should we try to improve our circumstances?

I remember a little old farmer in his mid 70's who had left the ruins of his farm a couple of days after the Sichuan earthquake and had gone to a nearby city to buy seeds and replant. He had lost his entire family during the earthquake but still he made the best of what life offered him and had decided not to be a victim.

Life for him is tough but he has created a opportunity out of the little that he had.

Don't you see the destruction that "Corporatism" can bring along with acidic NAFTA, the problemetic Free Trade... are major problems the impetus of these above agendas that bring ruin and bring destruction to many nations infratructure that infect, effect and affect job looose to enviromental castrophe. They bring more headache than good. China just close down 10,000 plus manufactures and 65 to 75,000 SME and they moved to different country that pay even lower wages more like USD 5 to 15 cents cents/hour compare to Chinas USD 30 cents - 40 Cents per hour . And, these captialist see it no longer competitive advantage to do so, will close shop,(moving every 10 to 15 years) again move from America to Mexico to China to Vietnam to Loas... so on. How are world workers going survive, taking serfs... livilihood away. WAKE UP!

Not even education, training... will do squat if you don't change the corrupted elites agendas. They give us more headache then good! What opportunity do you have if they close shop every 5 to 15 years and moved to another country with your jobs/livihood... endless evil cycles of power elites/ruling elites.

It is what we called Coporatism and fascism in the making in global market economy, we will be seeing more of this in the making and everyones, lowly masses, the serfs, slaves ... will see their livihood suffer because of corrupted world leaders evil agendas fro a nation/world !
