My suitcase was deliberately damaged on 13.12.07 while on Flt 253 HK/LHR C P A and I complained about it. The following speaks for itself:
----------
From CPA Customer Relations Group

Again, Ms Dennison we will forward your comments on to our Head Office in Hong Kong.
With kind regards.

Thank you for your acknowledgement.

Below is the copy of an e-mail I have today (22.1.08) sent to the Equality & Human Rights Commission, to keep them in the picture (a principle is at stake here).***
I have not so far had the courtesy of a response from your Hong Kong office. Perhaps this is due to the fact that there is a debate of who is responsible for the damage - C P A, the security people or the drugs people. Let us hope an offer of compensation is on the table soon.
In the meantime, I have written to the travel section of my daily national newspapers and to 2 local television programmes, in the hope that they will do their own research. I have also written to 2 Hong Kong national newspapers.
It has been suggested that I contact the UK Office of Fair Trading for advice. But I would rather not go down that path for the moment.

I hope C P A continues to enjoy its reputation as "the best........."
----------
Copy of my letter referred to above

*** "Just to let you know the present position. So far, I have had an acknowledgment only from Cathay Pacific's London Office, with a promise to pass on my 'concerns' to their Hong Kong office.

However, the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in London, to whom I sent a copy of my complaint, informed me on 21st December that the matter had been taken up with their Tourism Board, Tourism Commission and Cathay Pacific and I would be informed of developments in due course. I have heard nothing further from them.

I, in turn, have not been able to report positively to my contacts who are keen on holidaying in Hong Kong and are awaiting the outcome of my complaint. Let us hope the PM, while there, to whose office I have also written (because I hold an EU/UK passport), can raise the subject of minorities travelling without risk of similar treatment at the airport and vandalism to their suitcases.

With best wishes and thanks"

We bought confirm ticket from Cathey Pacific to USA & back. Unfortunately, way back home route was in request from San Francisco to Hong Kong. Agency told us everything was confirmed. We found out when we tried to reconfirm from USA. Now, no seat is available. Airlines said that is agents fault and Agent said that is Airlines fault. We are no where waiting to hope to get seat confirm. Now, airlines clock our phone # and could not contact them. When we consult with travel agency in USA, said ticket should not issue in request. Airlines should have this restriction even agent tried to trick customer. Route is Boltimore to Dallas, TX and San Francisco to Honk Kong. From Hong Kong to Kathmandu. All are confirmed except San Francisco to Hong Kong. Flight is on July 11th. Do not know what to do. We paid in full at the counter. We choose this airlines, thought it is good. BUt not worth to buy ticket. No help now.

as far as customer relations is concerned Cathy pacific is the worst.
I was ill whilst in Hong Kong 2007 and under dr,s instructions asked CPA for an earlier return flight to NZ. The lack of interest was amazing.
i had to spend 3 days in a hotel room and misseda couple of tours because of it.
I realize that they could possibly not help buta little more considrration would have helped.
no reply to my letter to head Office does not help me to again fly with CPA. Air New Zealand would have never treated me like this.
