The truth hurts. And you like to distort historical facts, don't you.

After the surrender of the Japanese, the Provisional Government of the French Republic restored colonial rule in Indochina.
Uncle Ho Chi Minh went to China to seek the support of Mao Tzetung and Zhao EnLai to drive out the French Colonist.
At that time China had neither the resources nor power to stage a full war with either France or USA.
But China was instrumental in the the defeat of the French, who was supported by the USA, at Dien Bien Phu not your cerebrated hero General Giap.
Who were his strategists and military advisors? Who supplied him all the weapons and food for his guerilla army? Who taught the Viet Minh guerilla warfare?
Unfortunately you don't read and understand Chinese. That is why, you never know?

The People's Republic of China supported The communist Viet Minh while the newly created Vietnamese National Army received its support from the United States the retreating French.

On April 27, 1954, the Geneva Conference produced a declaration which supported the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Indochina thereby granting it independence from France.

Read carefully... from France, your Colonial Master.

The Conference declaration agreed upon the cessation of hostilities and foreign involvement (or troops) in internal Indochina affairs. Northern and southern zones were drawn into which opposing troops were to withdraw, to facilitate the cessation of hostilities between the Vietnamese forces and those that had supported the French.

China has never and will never agreed to the cessation of control to any of the islands to newly independent state of Vietnam. Anyway the surrounding islands were never part of any discussion or agreement. So stop the bullshit!
The whole idea of the conference was basically to bring peace to Indochina.

Let face it, if China had been strong at that point of time, Vietnam will never been independent.

China will simply retake the province of Annam.

To illustrate my point, when the South Vietnamese went and set a garrison on the island despite protest from China. This is what happened?
China retook control of the island of Paracel from the South Vietnamese in 1974 after sinking a number of South Vietnamese Naval Ships. The whole show was over within 24 hours.

The USA force only withdraw from South Vietnam in April 1975.

Why didn't the USA Navy intervene and help you then? Because they knew that the islands don't belongs to Vietnam and would not want to be drawn into a war with China.

Please don't draw Malaysia, Indonesia and Philippine into the argument. Their claims and arguments are entirely different from South Vietnam. They were never a part of China before.

The decision to hide the truth from the parents, who continued to feed poison to their babies throughout the Olympic media ban on "negative" stories, would have been made at the top of the government. The people from the CCP who made that decision, though they are responsible for deaths and illnesses (chronic) of thousands of children, will NOT be punished. The propaganda will show them as "heroes" who are "protecting" the people----when in fact the opposite is true.
Be concerned about the chances of your kids being shot at or killed by gunshots fired by some lunatic distorted kids rather than at something that doesn't concerned you but only the Chinese themselves. The Chinese parents are the one who are grieving and some of you here even wrote and rejoiced over the stories!

Every incidents bring its blessing to the Chinese.
They will reinvent and clean up the whole dairy industries. And that will be good and positive for China.

I recalled there one time when traveling by air was a real risk in China because of their poor maintenance records. It is all in the past now, isn't it. Saw any Chinese planes dropping out from the sky lately or the past twenty years.

Imagine taking a flight in the US is far more risky now with their austerity drive and the use of recycled spare parts and not to mention sending your kids going to school.

Even you may be shot in the process!

Clean up your own backyard first.

The West switched from growing food into growing fuel for cars. It reduced the supply of food and increased the cost of food internationally. Now millions of people can no longer afford to buy enough food.
I don't complain because China has enough food. But I'll bet there are starving people round the world who will die because America took the decision that fuel is more important than food. And more people will die as a result of that decision taken democratically than will die as a result of a few individuals profiteering in China.
In neither case did anyone set out to kill people even if that is the consequence of their actions. Hopefull both societies will learn from their mistakes.
the goerment needs to help these kids in china and they need to understand what it is like in chaina and around the world

In the US there are beef or spinach were contaminted with Ecolie, few dead, the US Health Dept goes quickly to issue warning but no one intended to put Ecolie in the product like China puts Melamine in the Milk. You must got that right.

Air travel, I assume China's air traffic is not busy much as in US or EU so China may have less Air dissaster than other nations.

You just be patient, last year was toothpaste, medicine, toys, now milk. What is next ?

But they obviously did nothing last time (two years ago; formula with NO nutritional value killed children--remember?) there was Bad milk in the market, what makes you think that they will improve the testing systems now?

China now buys American or European airplanes---that is why flying in China is safer.

The chances of my children "being shot by a lunatic" are infintesimal. You are just trying to change the subject.

Well last year, PRC shipped us melamine meats and pet foods. Pets died. We kept on buying and eating the melamine meats. This year PRC's own infants are sickened and some die from thier melamine food products. I'm not glad for the innnocent children, no. But all I can say is whosoever diggeth a pit shall fall in it? I quit buying chinese products a while back because of the lead tainted toys, formaldihide candies, and poisonous pharmacuticals. The chines need to read "the Jungle" by Upton Sinclair.
