Calgary imam gets unique perspective of Canadians as he walks across country

Good idea, but the Imam has left many questions obscurely unanswered.

First he stated he aims to raise $1 million thru this walk. Then he retracted that and is now saying he needs to raise $200K. But he never stated what he intends to do with all this money. That's weird! Surely walking across Canada won't cost 200K, much less $1 million. For that much money one can travel around the world more than once with 5-star hotel accommodations. There was also some hullabaloo among his baby boomer friends that's his "sacrifice" has been so great that he has re-mortgaged his house for this cause. But I don't understand how does re-financing his house help him walk? Obviously he re-mortgaged his home because he probably got a better lending rate from some other bank. I wonder if that's the reason he is sniffing around for $200K.

Hummmm, this Imam is quite obviously a swindler, big time! That's apparent, otherwise there's absolutely no reason for him to involve money for a straight and simple cause like this one. I can understand if donations are required in a walk for cancer. Cancer research and treatment are costly. But walking to promote an idea or value does not cost money. The Imam seems to be inventing new financial shortcuts on mortgage for home buyers :)

No, I don't agree with Bob. He is not raising money for "terrorism." He is not into all that. But he is apparently asking for money to fill his pocket for a better life.
People like Bob and Soharwardy are the 2 problems of the global society in their own ways .. the former a hate-monger and the latter, a greedy one.

This isnso shameful that some of you have lied about Imam Soharwardy. First of all he never said that he is raising one million dollar for any cause. Why people lie and try to destroy some thing good is beyond my understanding.
Imam Soharwardy is being supported by team of volunteers and some of the volunteers are being compensated for their work. There is a motorhome with him that trails behind him. Five to six volunteers walk and drive with him. This all costs money.$200K is the expected amount of expenses for such a huge undertaking.
If anyone has any doubts why don't you call him or send email to him? Shame on liers and jealous. You can not do good and you do not like people to do good. You must not be a Canadian.
