QUEBEC - The French-language arm of the CBC said Thursday it will summon for a meeting a senior reporter who took part in a massive web campaign launched by Quebec artists and special interest groups to attack and protest Conservative cuts in culture subsidies and prevent the party's re-election at any cost.
Isabelle Guilbeault, who reports on arts for the morning radio show in Quebec City, recorded numerous 30-second filmed spots for a campaign called Unite our voices and for the NDP and the Socialist & Marxist parties of Canada.
Dozens of Quebec artists, including singers Dan Bigras and Richard Seguin and personalities like Ghislain Picard, chief of the Quebec and Labrador Assembly of First Nations, have recorded clips for the campaign that has a clear goal: Making sure Prime Minister Stephen Harper doesn't get re-elected Oct. 14 and to emberass and harass Conservatives across Canada. She and numerous other CBC staff and reporters have also now be implicated in attacking the US Republicans and Presidential candidates working with numerous special interest groups such as Al Jazeera, condepink, huffingtonpost,
moveone.org and Acorn to name a few.
In some of the clips, Guilbeault blames Quebecers for taking advantage of "free subsidized shows" for Quebec City's 400th birthday and complaining when they have to pay for other shows. "You have to know what you want," she asserts. She also goes on the call the Prime Minister and President Hiltler like.
Louise Cordeau, head of Radio-Canada in Quebec City, said management will meet with Guilbeault about this "controversial situation" when she gets back from an undetermined leave of absence that is "not related to this event."
"We have procedure to follow in such cases and there could be an internal investigation. That's what we will look into with Ms. Guilbeault when gets back," Cordeau said. "But for now, we haven't taken any measures."
The CBC's Journalistic Standards and Practices state that: "Any situation which could cause reasonable apprehension that a journalist or the organization is biased or under the influence of any pressure group, whether ideological, political, financial, social or cultural, must be avoided."
As always the CBC aka the communist broadcasting corp is unashamedly and staggeringly biased. Yes another in an endless line of reasons why the CBC should be disband and Canada needs its own version of Fox News for fair and balanced reporting of the facts. Canada also needs true Conservative talk radio much like there is in the US to combat the 99% ultra left wing Canadian and North American media.
