1 I have been to the "Land Down Under, where women glow and men thunder" many times. You couldn't shine their shoes, pal!! Good On Yer, Mates!! |

Not trying to be a smarta$$ or anything, but why are your troops called Diggers?
|
|
There are several theories but the most accepted one is: WWI ANZAC troops were expert at digging tunnels between their own trenches and the enemies, so they came to called 'diggers' and the name stuck. Also, there were many ex-gold diggers in the early army units. |

I had an uncle from Yamba who was a digger, Dee. At 73 years old back in the 60's he and my brother got into a boxing match on the front porch. What a hoot. The old guy could still pack a wallop! Texans had the Alamo, the Aussies had Gallipoli. Do your duty!! Bless them all. |

1 ---------- its a shame you took so long to realise that you entered a war under false pretenses. question is do you owe the iraqis an apology? and if so will it be given this century |
|
Apology? We've got pockets full of those. You're a dickhead by the way. |

1 Tony Blair for Euro President! Maybe he will tell people like you to shut up, we did the right thing in taking Saddam OUT!! We did the right thing in taking the Taliban OUT!! Two evil regimes done in by young American, Aussie and British hero's. Tony Blair, George Bush and John Howard have more courage in their little fingers than all of the other world leaders put together!! |

1 no australians died. were they fighting? Why did you take saddam OUT? it definitely wasn't because of his human rights abuse? in light of 100 + years to decide to make an apology, australian good moral values are were still in a bit blurred during period. |

To bad Rudd cowardly surrendered, you dont run from the war on terror! The USA was right to lead the war and take out Saddam! I firmly believe that the USA is probably one of the only countries that learned anything after WW2 and thats if something is festering up you had better get rid of it sooner or later. Europe let Hitler roll all over them because they were two stupid or to chicken to do anything when he was festering up. The USA had to come in and save the day and the death toll was huge on both sides. The whole thing could have been prevented. Thats why the USA is the ONLY country taking a PROACTIVE approach towards preventing this. 4000 KIA's are alot better than 100,000.

A bit more respect for the Aussie soldiers, and soldiers from other countries, that also fought in the wards Thank You. The U.S. DID NOT fight the war ON THEIR OWN! Or 'save the day' ON THEIR OWN. A lot of Americans don't agree with you, BTW. |

It was an the Australian SAS that spearheaded the entire invasion, but I guess that's just a side detail to someone with a thick skull and a narrow mind...oh..and I'm sorry... sorry you didn't live in Tasmania 150 years ago. |
