I had my pushbike stolen when i was a lad, the psychological issues of not being able to ride to school every day was so overwhelming that i had to sit down and have a little cry. Still think about that some 20 years later. NOW, WHO the FUCK is going to APOLOGISE for THAT!!!!!!!!!! ohh, i'm sorry, it's not a vote winner is it?

I had a bike stolen when I was a nipper. It was very disconcerting and I tried to track it down all over the neighborhood - searching high and low. I'm sorry your bike was stolen, it does hurt (especially when you're a kid).

However, In the end I got another one and forgot about it. I'm going to guess you did too.

It's not that easy to replace your parents, your sense of identity and find a place to belong. Apparently Rex has trouble imagining anyone having a different life than him. Compassion requires some measure of imagination and intelligence. You lack the compassion Rex - I'll leave it to you explain why.

The point Ngali is this........

Wrong was done, but i didn't run around trying to find someone to blame so i could feel all mushy inside. I moved on. Blame games are for people who feel insecure, have no life and want someone else to acknowledge that everything that went wrong in their life is someone else's fault. You don't go and apologise to Ivan Milat because we somehow as a society fucked up his childhood and he went and murdered innocent people. Fact of the matter is that an apology should come from those who feel they have genuinely attributed to the hurt and suffering. I and i am sure many others, do not appreciate feely, feely people saying they are apologising on mine and my ancestors behalf for actions they did not commit. And no, i didn't get another pushie after that..........Dr Walton says i'll be ok someday soon........

adding on to my previous post.....Why is it that if i don't agree to apologise then i am somewhat of an uncompassionate man. I have feelings as well as any other person who happens to be alive today. If i did what every Tom, Dick and Harry told me to do and not question the reason as to why then i am a machine. I would then agree with you and say i have no compassion. Are you getting the point now. If not then i guess we will have to agree to disagree, yes?

News, i think the proper description of Krudd is to compare him to Oppenheimer and his statement "now i am destroyer of worlds". When i say worlds i mean my world that was not so long ago pretty damn comfortable.

You can amuse yourself all you like. Look back on the Australia forum page and we can see how busy you have been up-ing things. At the moment I think you are a spammer and a waste of time.

And my point is - comparing a lost bike to lost parents and identity is no comparison at all.

And I think you've got it exactly right. I believe most Aboriginals are insecure and don't have a life in Australian society. Yes, they want acknowledgement that it isn't their fault. To a large degree they are victims of historical, cultural and institutionalised circumstances.

The apology is simply recognisation of this, and an acknowledgement that Aboriginals have been subjected to these forces. And with this now there can be a change.

To begrudge them this is something that suggests a lack of compassion.

Already said my piece of mind to you Ngali in Australians hate Aborigines post. Hope for one you stay in Thailand or maybe you are over there enjoying boys on the side huh?
