10 places to go before global warming hits hard

I don't like cold weather anyway, or snow or glaciers. What weather do we Brits like ? here's a clue - a million of us have moved to the south of Spain.

Yes, add the South of Spain to the list of places to visit before they are irreversibly changed. Central Spain has started to turn into a desert (not sure what that will do to the malaria threat referred to in the story) because of the over-use of fresh water along the coasts by tourists and north European immigrants. The Spanish Government will have to turn off the spigot sometime – the only question is if it will do it before desertification becomes impossible to stop.

Thanks for posting your comment. I didn't know about the desertification issues facing Spain. When I visited Castile and Leon In the late 1990s it was beautiful and green.

And where do we go before the next Ice Age that seems equally possible?

complete nonsense. Malaria is due to marshy wetlands - we had it in England during the Little Ice Age. What is a danger to the world is idiots like you, who believe anything their latest leader (Gore) tells you. But you had that experience with Hitler, didn't you?

The mosquitoes that spread malaria require warmer temperatures. Like the story said,“…malaria is reappearing in Spain and could become more prevalent as warmer temperatures create a better habitat for certain mosquitoes, according to a 1999 Wildlife Fund report on climate and tourism.”

By the way, it doesn’t take much water to breed mosquitoes; a half-full watering can in the garden for a few weeks or rainwater caught in an old auto tire, for example, will do.

Also by the way, I’m not German, a Nazi of any kind, nor a blind follower. Giblets just likes to hang labels on anyone who doesn’t agree with him. He seems to think that makes his assertions more credible.

sorry - CROMWELL suffered from malaria, caught in the eastern fenland counties of England.
The Civil War took place during the Little Ice Age. The only reason malaria is coming back is because imbecile "environmentalists" have done their best to ban insecticides. DIRT and ignorance , plus a lack of insecticides cause malaria - not imaginary "global warming".

Interesting to learn something new. I did a quick search and found that maybe he had it (may even have contributed to his death) but that (again maybe) he was infected in Ireland. Somewhat interesting but does not change the fact that malaria is a much greater problem in warmer temperatures and that average temperatures in Spain and across Europe are increasing.(Some German winegrowers are happy to be able to grow grapes that just a few years ago could only be grown in southern France and Italy.)
