Please learn to spell. Realize this, if our Democratic candidate was white, black people would still be voting democrat. Unlike white Democrats who are thinking of voting Republican because they cannot stand the thought of a black president. There is your racism. Not to be funny or anything but are you dyslexic?<quoted text>

1 Saddam Hussein was a terrible man, but all of these military actions have been about oil. You are right that we on the street do not see the benefits. When we say it is about oil, we should be clearer, I agree, for it is about profits for the Big Oil Companies. You are right that not all of the blame for the poor handling of the Hurricane Katrina tragedy lies with Bush. I do wish others had recognized that Bush did not care and had stepped up and took on leadership. I believe there was one local law enforcement official in Louisiana who did that. But none of this absolves Bush for his negligence. As for the "tax raises," as I understand it, is to discontinue the tax breaks that benefitted the wealthier and wealthiest. Some cry out about enemies abroad when we are so deeply in debt to nations such as China and Japan. We did not assume direct responsibility for the costs of this trillion dollar plus military invasion of Iraq. We went further into debt. I support our disengagement from Iraq. I ideally want it to have happened long ago, but maybe tomorrow, but I recognize that in reality and to do it the right way, it will take months now to make this happen. Finally, why do you feel the need to insult and to label? Can people discuss issues without that incivility? Can we see that there is more than one or two sides? |

1 Hollywood? Are you referring to Kelsey Grammer and Patricia Heaton? What does this have to do with anything? Cannot people support whom they want to support? |

I am not black. What you said is racist and not corroborated by fact. The DOJ statistics show that the overwhelming majority of violence on white people is by other white people and the overwhelming majority of violence on black people is by other black people. I suspect that this is largely because much of America is still segegrated. |

1 McCain and the Republicans brought this on themselves. They challenged and provoked Obama to go to the Middle East and now that his trip is going well you all whine about what you pushed him to do. He is, unfortunately for the Republicans looking and acting very Presidential. |

1 If I were black, I could see myself getting excited about the prospect of our first black president. But I would never vote for Clarence Thomas nor Condoleeza Rice. I suspect that if either were on the Republican ticket that some white people might vote for them, but I doubt most would if they understood their positions on issues. It is not just nor foremost about skin color. If I had to choose between McCain and Thomas, I would choose McCain. He is bad, but Thomas is not smarter than a fifth grader (sorry for that one). I agree 100% that violent crime in our American cities is a great shame. I wish people all across America would get on the bandwagon to solving this problem. |

1 No, that is not as clear as day. That is a point of view. It may be valid or it may not be. My point of view is that dictators in other nations like having a bogeyman to militarize their nation and reinforce their power. People like Bush, Cheney and McCain give them that. Bush-McCain needs a bogeyman to rouse public support for particular policies. They do have some things in common. Oh, by the way, I am an American. There is more than one perspective in America. In fact that is supposed to be part of what makes us what we are. |

1 Right, and remember that McCain said that we need to focus on the Iraq-Afghanistan border in our "war on terror." (hmmm, look at the map of that region, okay?) |

1 That is one of the most trumped up non-scandals ever! Why was his sex life ever a matter for a grand jury or anyone other than his wife? When the real issues are too hard to handle, I guess that is what people will resort to. And I am no fan of Clinton. I like what I like about him and I dislike what I dislike. It is not an all or nothing situation. |

1 Remember your history? Like when Rumsfeld said he doubted the Iraq war would take 6 months and now your all whining because we want to pull out with a goal of 16 months? Like the fact that Sadaam was severely marginalised, was guarding his own borders and was a much bigger threat to his neighbors who weren't wasting the lives of their children or their treasure to try to overthrow him. Like the fact that the Russians tried to occupy Afghanistan for decades and were unsuccessfull yet Bush and Cheney thought the job was such a walk in the park that they could all but abandon it to invade Iraq. Not about oil? Remember they aren't paying for the war we are. They are now entering into agreements where they will profit from the war. The fact that Bush wasn't succesful in accomlishing the easy victory he imagined for the oil companies doesn't mean he didn't try. One of the main reasons oil is high is the instability caused by the failed policies of this Administration. |

1 You suspect wrong. I grew up in the city as you probably are a rural rat. You try walking through a black neighborhood and see what happens. A black person, most of the time, can go through a white neighborhood. besides, the argument was a black person criticizing whites that we are afraid of confrontations with blacks, which to me is a racist thought. Stop being a white liberal trying to save the world and get with it. |

yes i am dyslexic mostly when i get tired. and i was commenting on what i have read on most of the post is that most of the blacks on here want to vote for the black pres. and do not put the racist comments just on the white people, that is kind of tacky. i could say the same about blacks on here becasue they are all voteing black. |

Is it your suggestion that someone with a broad prespective and it's racist isn't geting with some common sentiment? Contrary to the perferred opinion on this thread, getting with it is intelligent and objective opinion with respect for conttibution of All of America's Citizens. The U.S. isn't reduced to "Black or White Neighborhoods" nor us vs them. |
|
do you live in the city? The U.S. is reduced to black and white neighborhoods for the most part. You must live in a bubble going by your thoughts. |

Why do you infuse your comments with insults? And is "get over it" your catch phrase? It is pure insensitivity. I made comments about how violence is rare between blacks & whites -- a statistic corroborated by DoJ data. Is our nation's Department of Justice liberal? Look, I do not like violence by one person against another, no matter what the reason. I have lived in cities, suburbia, and I grew up in a small town. All the threats of physical violence I have received have been from white men needing to feel tough (and I do not generalize based on that). But again, I do not like violence nor threats of it by any person or group towards another. |

Dyslexia is a real struggle, but I do not understand what you are saying. Maybe try typing your posts in Word first, run spell check and grammar check, then copy and paste into a post? Just a suggestion. |
