Good Job ? Now the Terrorist and criminals KNOW that they can go to the airport and be UNOPPOSED while they carry out thier plans !
KEEP THE AIRPORT SAFE !!! ARM THE CITIZENS !!!
We all know the Police get there just AFTER an incedent. WE THE PEOPLE are there AS the event unfolds.
Seems to me the IGNORANCE and ARROGANCE of these OFFICAILS should be rectified with a little JAIL TIME ! and reassignment to matters of airport landscaping and baggage handling.

Rep. Bennie Thompson, D-Miss. you're an idiot! Law abiding citizens aren't the problem you moron. They're not talking about taking weapons past any security checkpoint. They're talking strictly about areas before the security checkpoints where "LOCAL" authorities have jurisdiction. I wonder if TSA even has the authority to enforce Federal Law outside of security checkpoints.

Here goes another anti-freedom democrat crying no law-abiding gun owners allowed BUT we allow criminals with guns everywhere and can't stop them.
So where a lawful gun owner could stop a crime or someone's / their own death legally, a democrat wants to still allow criminals more of a right of way with guns than the lawful gun owner that goes through background checks and etc.
The cops can't be everywhere, especially where a crime is being committed, but more gun owners probably are, should be carrying to do the cops job of protecting The People instead of just doing the paperwork of the aftermath.
The point still remains this is outside of the security points!

I say no guns ANYWHERE. Why do you need a gun? Are the bears attacking your log cabin? Are the indians scalping someone down the street? Guns kill people, they ruin families, but they do make good news.

I am sorry Mr.A-So Called Patriot....but did you ever hear of the Mafia? The Underground? The Black Market? You can take guns away if you want, but when any piece of illegal trash wants a gun bad enough, they simply go to the Black Market and BINGO! Guns do NOT kill people. The people who make the decision to pull the trigger is the one who kills, whether it is in self defense or theft. A gun cannot pull it's own trigger. THINK about that (but not so hard you give yourself a migraine!). Here in Atlanta last night, a 20 year old man?kid? walked into a house and shot and killed a father that was putting his 2 year old daughter to bed. Does that not at least compare to an Indian scalping your head?! If the government would wake up and see the United States Justice system is a failure, that man/boy never would have had the opportunity. Use your brain. If the government takes guns away, then criminals were start using knives. They take knives away and they will use axes and so on. Once again, THINK about it. THINK before you talk.

Are you so foolish that you can read what you just wrote? Someone killed someone in Atlanta with a gun. Imagine that. Based on your retort you walk around with a gun ready to blast someone if they look at you funny. And to state that a gun doesn't pull it's own trigger; that is a rather lame statement. When was the last time someone challenged you to a gunfight? You don't need a gun, you need a Quaalude.

Two incidents in Virginia,

A few years ago somebody walked onto a university campus and started shooting. there were several students who also had guns, albeit in there vehicles, on campus as well. They retrieved their guns and put a stop to the shooting, saving lives. Virginia's response was to ban guns on campus.

So, a few more years later a student walked onto another campus and starts shooting unopposed. The result was the highest body count on a university campus in history. And all because law abiding students followed the law and left their guns at home. I think the two events contrast the need for law abiding citizens who wish to be armed should not have their second amendment right taken from them. Think about it, the shooter at Virginia Tech wasn't even opposed by the police, whose job it was to stop him. they waited outside until the shooting stopped, just like the police did at Columbine high school.

you asked what the need is to carry a gun A-Patriot? Simple, criminals and crazies carry guns and have no hesitation about using them, nor qualms. The police seldom engage those folks, often doing exactly what the officers did in Virginia and Columbine. I don't question their courage, as a holder of a B.S. in criminal justice I am aware that the police are simply following their departments' policies. In other words, they are not allowed to do what we, the public pay them to do in many cases. And the government denies any obligation to do so.

In the UK guns are so severely restricted that it amounts to a ban. Well, although their rate of shooting homicides is worse than ours, it has gone up since the ban was imposed. and those criminals who can't get guns switched to knives. So now their is a movement in the UK to ban knives! simply put, they haven't learned from their mistakes over there.

I wish it were otherwise, but law abiding citizens are faced with violent criminals armed to the teeth. that is the reality. Police cannot be everywhere and stop those criminals. So law abiding citizens NEED to be armed for their own protection. And no amount of wishful thinking is going to change that situation.

The second amendment was put in place to protect us from the government anyway. And given the obsession of many at all levels of government to try to get around the second amendment and incidents such as Ruby Ridge, Waco, and the shooting and over-up of the old lady in Atlanta not long ago I think the founding fathers knew what they were doing when they banned the federal government from restricting weapons ownership all those years ago.
