Of course not. The Industrialists lived large and removed from the workers and built for themselves marvelous mansions we still tour today as paying tourists. In fact, he was appreciative enough of the collective efforts of his employees that he provided the committed among them a pension for lifetime service, a vacation, a holiday here and there and overtime pay when demand for his product was great and rushed. Unions made sure Mr. Reardon understood the need. It never occurred to Mr. Reardon to freeze their pensions and ask them to work double shifts without compensation, much less to ship their jobs overseas. Those were different times. Those "different times" are being played out as we speak, NTR.... Today.

The one with the smug attitude is you and the funny thing is that you have little to be smug about. To take the bio of you which has floated in this and other forums you have been a failure in both personal and public life. You claim education but have demonstrated little to substantiate such claims. Even in college they require to think for yourself and not just parrot the words of others. The sad part of it is that you have been shown to not even understand the information that you cut and paste. I need not stay in school as I have gotten my education and it has done well for me. I had no need to attach myself to another for survival as you have apparently done several times. Reading your posts it’s no wonder that they keep failing as I am sure that life with you is quite trying. You have shown yourself to be little more than just another file clerk/secretary trolling the internet attempting to be relevant and doing a poor job of it. I'm sure that the real world is a very confusing place for you. Don’t just claim and education, get one. Fully agree. Yes she does...

The truth of the matter is that the producers and innovators in this country are tired of carrying the flotsam and jetsam whose hands are always out for more and show little gratitude for what they do get. Yes they are... I built my sandbox. Maybe I'll stay in it for a while..

I don't understand what you mean by that, unless you're referring to the fact that pensions are being cut or frozen (some were far too generous), unions have been neutralized, Americans have been displaced in favor of cheaper labor. We're as disposable as used kleenex. The elite would like to shut us up by feeding us fish and blocking us from getting to the lake with our rods and reels in hands - and a shovel for bait. If we make it to the lake, all we'll have is a couple of rocks in our pockets. Good luck catching a fish by skipping one into his head! Well, you never know. Once in a blue moon somebody will get lucky - if they keep throwing rocks in the lake. The wealthy industrialists have been replaced by the money changers, and they do have lavish homes here and there...and there, etc. Is that what you mean? What is Romney's plan for fixing it? Will he teach us all how to turn $30,000 into $100 million dollars in a decade with IRAS on steroids? Can he outsource us into a booming economy? Will we all be competing for 1,400 jobs with the Keystone pipeline? Gawd, I hope they pay well, especially for the folks in the midwest who still drive cars to work. Will he send more police into the low income sectors to keep the crazies from preying on and harming everybody who is too hungry to fight back? Now, I realize that that scenario was pure speculation, but since the man won't get specific and detail his plans for us, my guess is as good as anybody else's, because nobody really know how he thinks he can pull off keeping his promises for the ever evolving and myriad "first day on the job" plans he has - whatever they are. It just depends on who he's speaking before as to what those promises for the first day in office really are. He's like a Cracker-Jack box. I don't know what the surprise is going to be, but I figure it will be broken before we ever extract it from that little foil lined pouch it comes in. Still, I know that some of you would be exquisitely relieved that a white man sits in the Oval office, regardless of how bad you get screwed or how little of consequence it means to improving your lot in life.

Why don't you expand your horizons and look at the global economic picture. Don't forget to understand that the Republicans promise their base that they'll "take care of them" and just sit tight - don't move 'til we get there. So? They're parked in neutral waiting for an additional $150,000 to spend. That has absolutely NOTHING to do with you, aside from the fact that maybe the plant where you work will be outsourced, because there is no tax penalty either way if you take it off shore and repatriate it at your convenience. Romney says so. Another "day one" task. No summer will be the summer of our recovery until we get busy educating our children again, including the ones who weren't born to mommies and daddies with trust fund bestowals to pay for their college education and a beamer.

And unlike the progressives running the show with the Unions as their top concern.....Romney said he will allow for vouchers to go with the kids so they can use the money intended for their education and go to any school, including actual successful schools, instead of caving to the unions and forcing kids in low income areas to be stuck in failing schools.

I guess working in concert by telling a bunch of entrepreneurs they didn't build it themselves and easing "work" requirements for welfare, obama is trying to convince people that you can't get anywhere without gov't handouts. And he wonders why our education system fails to produce educated people. In his world, you don't have to exceed or even work for that matter. Uncle Sugar will take care of you. Just call us mini-Greece. Except that is not what he said, he was clearly referring to roads, bridges and other infrastructure (that you as a businessman did not build)! It is simply pathetic and unconscionable how you right-wing morons are falling all over each other every time Mr. Obama says something that is apparently to hard for you peabrains to comprehend!

It's just that you, the Ratz who continues to bait, and the entire crew of you morphing trolls from the GR crew truly ARE bigots and racists. That's why you are forced to re-attire yourselves in new identities after self-destructing with "red dots on foreheads" and "rags on heads" and racial and ethnic insults, coupled with your pride in and support for the self-admitted white separatist and supremacist Gloria/Tally/Monica. Worse, you're scared out of your gourds of what will happen to you when you become the minority. If you live long enough, you'll witness it. Nothing will happen to you except that more of the people you encounter won't like you, simply because you don't know how to like them - based strictly on the external and superficial. In your limited view of the world, they aren't "Americans" like you. They're all here illegally and to mess up your perfect experience in white world where 97% of the population is white, and you and the neighbors keep trying to get the interlopers to move and stop depressing your property value. Mmmmmmm-k?

I beg to differ. The buisnessmen did indeed build the infrastructure. The very first roads briges and ferrys where built by private buisnessmen and they charged a toll for them. The same as the very first boat docks and Warves on the waterways. The buisnessmen provided the jobs that paid the wages that where taxed to build todays infrastructure. Those whose wages are derived by taxes actually contributed nothing. If your money comes from the goverment that produces nothing. then you parasites never really pay any taxes. The tax you pay is derived from a tax. So its just a recycling of tax dollars robbed from some productive buisnessman or his productive employees wages. Kinda like the parasites getting a dollar for free and paying a 10 cent handlig fee.
