In the Dark Knight the license plates of all the cars were Illinois.

Might be because it was filmed in Chicago but I understand what you mean. G.C. is supposed to be a fictional city and all I could see thru the whole movie was "Chicago" not "Gotham City"

hey people, did you not understand the point of The Dark Knight? It's supposed to be as real as you and I posting on this thread...so if it seemed like Chicago, it was to give the feeling that yes indeed G.C. is like any other real city in the U.S.

some parts of the movie were shot in Hong kong not chicago look up the movie locations for the dark knight.

So Hong Kong isthe ture Gotham city not chicago
