The threat of Tropical Storm Fay scared some tourists away from Orlando's theme parks Tuesday, but that was perfectly fine with the people who did show up.

The tourists should buy into the media hysteria, or do only the locals do that?

You said it. "Tourists". They paid for the big trip to come here. Can't blame them for playing in the rain. Wonder how many local folks have been there during TS Fay.

The people in New Orleans didn't buy into the "media hysteria" either, see how well that worked out for them.

Better to be prepared & safe, than to not have done a thing & be dependant on the gov't for help.

But you just go ahead, with your daily activities. You'll be one of those poor slobs, waiting for their free gov't issue water. Don't hold your breath while your in line. You may just get what you ask for. A whole pile of nothing.

Disney should - but we know they will not- make the parks accessable only to the people who are staying on sight. Yes - I know the employees would still be required to show up.( I worked there 76-81-had to go in for Hurricane David) Knowing the number of people on-sight you would not need a full staff. If they made that announcement ahead of time it would cut back on the number of people on the road. Make it manditory for managers and leads. Do they still call them leads?

Well, it's just some wind and drizzle. Why'd you (the media) get everyone worked up over an dying TS? Once it hits land, it's over, everyone knows that.

I love the people that "didn't even check the weather" before they left on vacation. I don't know about most people, but that is something I do when I am packing.

Does anyone really think that Disney or any of the other theme parks in this area care about the safety of the guests or the people that work for them. It was clear to see 2 years ago as the Gov. Duh. asked us all to stay inside to keep off the roads and leave them for emergency we had the theme parks saying "WE ARE OPEN" causing the very people he didnt want on the roads on the roads. Care for the people please. Care for that all mighty dollar that they get back in Califorina is all that matters. If they cared you pay people what they should be making and not raise again ticket prices for your theme parks..hang on they care right...SAFETY DOESN'T BEGIN WITH THEM

The New Orleans fiasco is a poor comparison, because the residents who didn't heed warnings were stupid and poor. Many were more concerned about stealing than evacuating.
Been to Sanford lately??
