Let's be fair, us Brits - mostly the English- had it too easy for so long, and we have become complaisant, insular, etc...
But Britain is slowling sliding down in the scale of importance.
Britain was the 5th world economic power, now it has been overtaken by ... Brazil. So now we are 6th, but by 2015, the pundits say we will be 9th.
At the end of this decade, we will be 15th, apparently. So a lot of readjustment will be necessary.
I advocate being-open minded, accepting new challenges, staying positive and adapt to changes in society.
Our British isles will become a small entity, like Sweden now, with not much influence in the world. Our times of playing in the big league are over, whatever some think.
