The better they know the language, the lesser their chances of getting caught and deported. They can refuse to learn the language all they want, but when the economy tightens up and attitudes turn against them, they will be wishing they learned the language. Their lack of language skills will make them a PRIME TARGET for deportation. (it will give them away)

I'm Mexican. I don't EVER want to live on the west coast. I barely speak Spanish. I ONLY really speak English. I'm legal. I'm a college graduate trying to make a difference in the lives of animals(the furry kind) not animals like you. They are more open minded.

You're right. I do not and will not forget Spanish (and I am only half Mexican). But I learned English, too, as I live in the United States. In fact, I will keep Spanish alive with my children as long as I live. I also tell them it is important that they, in turn, teach their children (my future grandchildren) to not lose Spanish although they are all fluent in English. There is nothing wrong with not wanting to forget your second language. It comes in very handy in the work place these days. |

I can see that. A lot of jobs in my area prefers a bilengual applicants. I can speak more than that but for not speaking good Spanish just sour up the deal for me and lost the position over a hispanic applicant. |

A lot of hispanic people can not speak English and they are not planning to learn. Why would they? US will hire an interpreter for them. Luckily,their children will assimilate good and will be speaking just like an American. Unfortunately on some hispanic families,it upsets them because their kids tend to forget speaking Spanish nor care to speak Spanish at all. |

Yeah,because the teachers time and attentions are all focus on the non English speaking hispanic students neglecting to educate the English speaking students who needed her time to correct their spelling and grammar problems. |

The poor insecure guy is having a hard time in San Jose. Lots of Mexicans doing things that so-called Americans are too lazy or unwilling to do be- cause they mean actually working for a living instead of whining about how they're not any good jobs paying what they deserve .... Lots of well educated Asians making lots of money in those high tech buildings in San Jose and around the Silicon Valley that are constant reminder of their inability to compete .... Life is tough for underachieving trolls.... |
