Peter was the first head of the Catholic Church. He was our first Pope Bob. Hence "St. Peter's Basilica". Do you get the connection? Open the eyes of your heart Bob. the truth will set you free.

PRESTON, PRESTON,Preston, why do you continue to persecute God's children, the Catholics?
They are my brothers and sisters, adopted by God.
You have always misunderstood things, just ask your mother.
The last time I spoke to you, I told you go "see a Minister".
I did not tell you "Go BE A MINISTER!"

Now Truly I say to You, Let Those That Have Ears Listen!
Preston, Go and confess to a Catholic Priest, lose your sinfull pride and ask for instruction.
I may not speak to you again, Preston.
Get it right this time.

Lets see some Bible verses that indicate your opinion or any others that states the same is correct. using catholics who say catholics are right is not admissible. just because the rcc named a buiding after him is not truth that peter ever saw the inside of a catholic building. and for certain you cant claim the upper room as belonging to catholics. and I have read the bible many times and this is the only instance in which I have heard of him preaching in. there is a building in chicago called the sears building, I doubt if mr sears ever set sight on it.

If he was the first pope, why didnt God give him that title instead of him being called a disciple or a apostle. can the rcc usurp the teaching and the words of Jesus?

It's time to turn away from your life as a reprobate, Bob. Leave the teachings of the Devil and return to Jesus, the Christ.
Come home to the Catholic Church,Bob.
Welcome to you.

You can't hide behind a cowboy from me, Preston.

Hi Cowboy! No, the son last night was the same IP address as the multi personality person (Jennifer, and friends), so I didn't respond. Didn't want to encourage him/her/them. I don't trust them at all now.
My son has read through as I'm posting and would LOVE to jump in. The arrogance of the rcc amazes him. I don't think it would be appropriate for a 16 year old to be debating with a bunch of adults either, though. He'd probably outdo all of us... LOL
Peace!
That IP address is in the internet lounge for employees at an Indianapolis hospital. Anyone of the 1500 plus employees that work there have access to those computers on their breaks and after hours!

Oops, and you can also access it through that hospital's own website system, which is what I'm doing now. That would most likely explain the multiple users...

It's not the systen thqat has patient access records, it's the website for employess, with internet search engines, and such. a lot of emplyess use it at their house because it atuomatically blocks out youtube, myspace, and facebook. And almost every type of porn or offensive site. It's a benefir given to the employess, along with tuition reimbursement, pet insurance, and other things some of the other hospital systems don't offer. I would take a gander that someone has left the page up or open when they went back to work or left the lounge and someone got on to reply, just to be obnoxious. I'm actually surprised topix is not blocked considering anyone can use it.

I think it's when the Holy Spirit comes over you and you can speak in different languages you've never spoken in before, or haven't spoken for a long time. But I think for it to be "of God" and not "the Deceiver", one most look at what is being said and the fruits of it, as well. Anybody else?
I believe that is it. Speaking in tongues is one of many gifts of the Holy Spirit that are mentioned in the Book of Acts. I'm not going to say that the Holy Spirit cannot still empower men with this and other such gifts, but I don't think it happens much now (if at all) because there is no need. You'll notice in the Book of Acts that when they began talking in tongues, people from different nations were around and they understood the tongues. It was given as a gift to help rapidly spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ throughout other peoples and languages. And yes, it is not to be just "babbling" someone is supposed to interpret. My pastor says that if anyone ever comes to his church and begins talking in tongues, that he will translate and say that the person just said they were donating $5000 to the church.:)

Isn't the Truth that Jesus is God's Son, who died on the Cross for our sins, and whoever believes in Him as their Savior will have life eternal in Heaven? I'm not trying to be difficult and I was always hesitant to post on here for fear of being verbally attacked, but if there is some secret Truth about salvation that I missed in Scripture, someone please enlighten me!
That's it! The problem protestants have with catholic doctrine regarding salvation is that belief is not enough. In other words, you have to produce works to help attain salvation. I think a common misconception about catholics about protestants is that simply believing is too easy. The difference is that a TRUE christian who TRULY believes will indeed produce good works out of love for God, and not keep on sinning like nothing's wrong. I would venture to say that 50% or more of protestant Christians are not truly Christians. I know that sounds harsh and judgmental, but far too many churchs are filled with individuals that have absolutely no evidence of Christ in their lives.

Is this like those ridiculous faith healers on late night tv that when your flipping the channels, they are yelling out and knocking people over, and then people start claiming they received some enormous check in the mail after they were "healed" and then ask you donate to the ministry?

I would be very leary of such things. I do think some of these churches where this goes on have a spirit, but not of God. I know of at least one preacher that throws people out when the babble and nobody understands. Much of it could be construed as emotionalism. Tongues is another. When people start spouting out words with no understanding. In Acts the people were hearing there language. It was prevalent in the very Early Church. Ministers pushing people over isnt all that great either. I know there are healers but the true ones from my experience are very humble and not loud and making false prophesies as I have witnessed in some churches. People who have been said to be healed, stopped going to Doctors because preachers told them they were healed. I believe one was in the news not long ago as someone died. What do you call it when someone dies? Luke was a physician. While healings can take place one must also take care of themselves. The prophets spoke in the spirit they did not fall backwards. Even when someone faints they fall forward. I am sorry if this offends some, but this was prevalent in the Jesus Movement which grew rapidly then declined as rapidly as it came about falling into many churches.
Something else we agree on Dust Storm!
