We used Newton's laws of Gravity until we examined Mercury's orbit around the sun, and it became clear that Newton's Theory of Gravity was flawed. Enter Einstein's Relativity, which more accurately models Mercury's orbit, so it largely replaced Newtonian physics.
However, we know that Einstein's Relativity is flawed, as it does break down inside black holes. THUS WE KNOW we need a better theorem for gravity, which will replace Einstein's Theorem.
