Does anyone have information on the accident that happened 10/08/08 on Reeck at Allen?

He was hit by a 20 year old girl driving on a suspended licence while he was walking across Reeck, she was turning left from Allen onto Reeck.

My kids said he was an 11th grader at Allen Park High school. He was crossing Reeck and had his I pod on and wearing all black clothing. The cars come fast off Allen onto Reeck - still that is no excuse. It had just gotten dark outside. Still no excuse. His name was Vincent Polachik (sp) This is the only article I found on it.

1 he was crossing reeck as the 50 yr old woman turned on to reeck off of allen as 16yr old vincent polasky was struck by the vehicle of a 50 yr old woman between the time of 700-730. Vince was pronounced dead at 830pm on October 8th, 2008. R.I.P.- Vincent Polasky never forget |

ALLEN PARK — Vincent Polasky, 16, was killed Wednesday as he was crossing Reeck Road at Allen Road. Police said he was struck at about 7:15 p.m. by a 2006 Ford Fusion driven by a 35-year-old Allen Park woman. The woman said she didn’t see Polasky until after she struck him. “I stopped at Reeck (going south from Allen) to make a left turn,” she told police.“I proceeded to make the turn onto Reeck. I went a few yards and hit a person.” so pay attention!!!! dont just make up things!!!!! |

It would be nice if the city considered making one this roads a deadend. Discontinue the use of the road, we do have few roads that where bad ideas. Bad city planner or someone who just could not foresee a problem. With all respect to good intent, this is not acceptable.
