He was impeached becaused he lied to Congress during the Congressional hearing after the investigation. He, also, was barred from practicing law for 5 years.

HUH??? Have you read Clintons history? Can you even read?

Certainly there were impeachment hearings, but the house and senate couldn't garner enough votes to remove him from office.

Once again, LISTEN THIS TIME!!

He was NOT impeached!!!

The MSM buried the FAR, FAR, FAR, more important story of missile technology transfer and Chinese Red Army political contributions.

What is surpressd by the MSM is the story of Sen. Bob Packwood being forced out of Congress by liberal democrats for "french kissing" a campaign worker decades earlier.

If the liberal democrats had not driven a duly elected senator out of office the Bill Clinton impeachment never would have happened.

To add to above.

To their credit, Ted Kennedy and Chris Dodd wanted to go easy on Packwood BUT Barabara Boxer and others wanted his head on a platter.

Hillary or Bill could have easily saved Packwood. They didn't and that created the bad feelings which led to Clinton's impeachment when the Monica Lewinsky story broke.

By definition, just by going thru the "impeachment process" means he was impeached. Being removed from office is another matter. Look it up...if you're sober by now, that is.

Bill Clinton was impeached because he was the finest President we've seen since JFK, and the republicans were afraid that his stellar record would prevent them from regaining the Whitehouse anytime soon. They had to smear his admirable legacy somehow, someway, but they had nothing to nail him on as a President. All that could find was something totally unrelated to his Presidential duties. So they used every means possible to bring his personal life under scrutiny in an attempt to defile his reputation, knowing full well they could never remove him from office on such an inconsequential charge but at least they had a chance to level the playing field if he blinked at all during the inquiry; which he did by not immediately admitting to the affair. If Bill would have confirmed his participation from day one, most of the American people would have come to the realization that screwing around with a chubby intern is much preferable to screwing the whole country. Why the hell couldn’t Bush have made that same choice as well?

Impeachment is an INDICTMENT ... conviction prompts removal from office.

Clinton was impeached but not found guilty so he wasn't removed from office. As with any jury trial, the jury's verdict was based on the totality of the circumstances, not just the facts of the case.

In Clinton's case, the jury (the Senate) decision was based on political considerations, and the violations of law were ignored.

He was impeached. Something that the idiot democrats today can't seem to get over so they keep trying to come up with some reason for impeaching Pres Bush.

psrtisan claptrap.....

JFK wasn't in office long enough to earn the title you seek to bestow on him.

Clinton was a mediocre president - with many poorly made choices in his appointments to his cabinet and other government positions.

See Ron Brown as an example of a bad choice.

Clinton failed to use the power of the presisdency to fight the Islamic terrorist who began a War against America during Clinton's reign. His lackadaisical reaction to the numerous terrorist attacks on US facilities, gave Bin Ladin comfort to move along and step up the attacks.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Impeachment

Bill Clinton was impeached on December 19, 1998 by the House of Representatives on grounds of perjury to a grand jury (by a 228–206 vote) and obstruction of justice (by a 221–212 vote). No other articles of impeachment on a count of perjury in the Jones case (by a 205–229 vote), and one accusing President Clinton of abuse of power (by a 48–285 vote). President Clinton was acquitted of the obstruction charge by a 50 to 50 vote in the Senate.

We were all lucky dot.com came along.
Dot.com was a confluence of hi-tech development and military-industrial complex development that had grown and flourished since the invention of the silicon chip. Clinton just happened to be Pres when the internet was made available to the general US/world population. Before then government and academia were the primary users of the web.

You can thank engineers the world over for bringing along the internet. Now, Bush/Cheney had their chance to benefit the US economy from NEW technologies on the internet including video for the masses. This was a dream when the internet became available to the general populace in 1994-95. But instead of helping the US middle class, Bush/Cheney have inflicted great debt on us with an illegal war. THEY should have been impeached months ago, but the Dumbocrats leading the US House (Pelosi/Hoyer) don't have the desire to protect the US Consitution that is their very HIGHEST oath of office.

Haven't been around much have you Eric ?

Yes, he was impeached, and so was Andrew Johnson, but neither of them was convicted by the Senate. In fact, Johnson missed being removed from office by only one vote.

The impeachment process is something like a Grand Jury; it doesn't convict anyone, but determines if there's enough evidence to go to trial.

Pse get your facts straight before you start posting in all caps!

Clinton was suspended for 5 years from practicing law in the state of Arkansas for making "false and misleading statements" in the Paula Jones sexual harrassment case.

The ABA then choose Clinton as the guest speaker for their convention.
