It's the law: No sagging pants in Chicago suburb

Be careful if you have saggy pants in the south Chicago suburb of Lynwood. Village leaders have passed an ordinance that would levy $25 fines against anyone showing three inches or more of their underwear in ...

I can't think of too many things I hate more that saggy pants and I wish young men would just pull up their pants. However, I also wish the government would concentrate on government business. They are blaming saggy pants for their inability to attract business and run the city. Maybe if they concentrated on taxes, crime and education businesses it would make things better and businesses would relocate. Politicians have become masters of diversions, in other words they can't fix anything of relevance so they concentrate on emotional hot-button issues like saggy pants. Do they really think that having no saggy pants is going to spur development and cause major retailers to flock to their city? NO they don't. But it keeps people emotional and keeps voters distracted.

This is another case where the 'old fogies' in government have overstepped their bounds. Frankly, as long as people are not physically and directly hurting other people, government has NO RIGHT to tell them what they can and cannot do, what they can and cannot wear, etc.

Someone needs to take this 'village council' to court and get this law overturned, or specifically flaunt their style choice in front of police and DARE them to arrest them with the threat of taking them to court if they dare to arrest them.

To my understanding saggy pants has numerous of meanings. One that I could recall is that people that sag and came out of jail are people who got but raped and the other is that they are gangsters.

I thought it came from jail also starting as an advertisment for gay sex? Everytime I see a guy sagging I assume they are gay or bi.

Once while shopping with my children when they were younger, I came upon this guy leaned over the counter with his pants half-mast, showing 1/3 of his boxers.

I politely hauled off and spanked him one good time on his ass. He jumped damn near through the counter, spinning to see who did what.

I stood there with a smile upon my lips and told him....I hit ...I bite...and I spank bent over half naked butts.

He just stood there shocked and I got a good chuckle out it ...for days on end.

I mean ...really.....Do we have to be subject to pants nearly down around someone's hips...making their legs look like "Dorf on Golf".

I happen to find this law so insane!

Yea, it might not be attractive; but so what?

I can't believe government is now telling people what kind of pant's are appropriate!

What next..No purple shirt's?

I think they should have to pull their pants up to go into restaurants. Ever been behind one at a buffet? His hands alternating between holding his crotch and handling the spoons to get his food. Long shirt and pants down to his knees, after a glimpse I don't think he had anything else on. Then he was dumb enough to get a drink- it was comical watching him try to walk with both hands full and pants down. It kind of ruined my appetite.

This will get overturned as soon as the ACLU files suit. Unless they classified the law under the indecency law then it has may have merit. City counsels all over America pass city ordinance and laws that make no sense or target a specific group. It is up the citizens to stand up and say if it is wrong. Where I live we have a curfew for our kids which mean the city is now acting as a parent. We are a dry county which means they tell us we can not buy alcohol in our own community. The have a cruising law which means I need to be carful if I forget something at the store and have to go back because I will pass the same spot twice in an hour and that is cruising. Does it look stupid? Yes. Is it considered indecent? I would say no more than the people that where their pajamas outside. If a woman has her bra strap showing while wearing a wife beater is that indecent? Should be by this law because their undergarment is showing. It will never end until we become the first democratic communist society.

Just pull up your pants. I think that is the most tacky thing on the planet. It is disgusting. Just like fat women wear spanex. Both need to put on approiate clothing. (Clothing that fits.)Sorry noone wants to know what kind of undergarments you are wearing.
