Rotten monetarist monkeys. The 401(k)s of the little man are being crushed by these vain attempts to salvage credit securities that are better sent through a bankruptcy reorganization. So, what is one to do? Well, if you have been panicked by what is happening, check out my blog.

The amazing thing is the guys who are making the corrections were in charge all the time the problems were made. So the very same guys are now telling us they can make the corrections. A big bunch of trash.
I do not think they have any idea, if they knew what they were doing we would not have gotten this bad off.

Okay. I need someone to explain this to me, and not as a riddle.
I have inherited many stocks, whose cost bases are ridiculously low. Selling them would be suicidal. But at the same time I have always done estimated taxes. Now, everyone knows if you pay in excess to the IRS, you don't get interest on that overpayment. Underpay? Penalty!
So...what does one do, knowing that the dividend checks are going to be substantially less than last year's 1099 figures?
Any answers?

Dang Bob my thoughts exactly it is like giving the criminals the keys to the jail house I saw this comming about a year ago and it is the average joe that will pay for these losers mistakes.

Talk to an accountant or tax laywer, obviously.

There is only one answer to that question. You have to do the hard work of going through each one and look up dividend news on the internet. You may have to make some estimated guesses as to how much you will get, and then add up all the expected dividends and plug them into some tax software that will give you an idea of what you will owe.

Well, Lance my accountant is clueless, and my father, who's an attorney, doing estate work in his latter years (95)is equally perplexed.
Bottom line, I suppose, is why give stuff to a government that was created by geniuses and now run by idiots?

The difference is that they are putting up your money before the job is done, not like it's their money.

Yup, there's no shortage of clueless accountants, lawyers, even doctors. On the other hand, there are some very bright and talented people who can help with taxes, health matters, personal problems, and all sorts of tribulations. Ya gotta shop around and find what's right for you, just like in many other regards.

Since you inherited these stocks, you would have had to pay state tax on them. Since they are now devalued, and if you'd decide to sell them, you woul get a tax credit for the amount of the loss. My personal opinion on GW is; worst pres in history, however I do give him credit for trying to establish restrictions on Feddie Mac and Fannie Mae by makeing them accountable a couple of years back. With either candidate America is going to face future problems but the one candidate will make matters far worse than the other.
Too great a change is not always good and can unsettle an already unsettled and troubled nation. Obama possibly winning the USA elections may be one of the many important elements causing so much unsettlement in the USA economy and world-wide.
Strange that much of the crises has surfaced since he has decided to run for office and is worsening as time moves closer. The novelty of voting for a black man will wear off and one will be down to basics and reality on the ground.
Each person is influenced by ones background and sympathy towards their own race/races which can have disastrous consequences for those who are of the opposite race or those of the black race already residing in America.
The right person as president (in this case McCain) can pick up the pieces and move towards healing the economy, sorting out homes, giving back jobs. He will sort the situation out without making things worse in such troubled times.
Troubled times are not the right time to change things drastically and still rely on the thought pattern of someone who has had so much turmoil in his own life. Dont believe that everything will just come right over night as politics is not magic.
That is not reality - and what Americans are doing is trying to live out a dream. Remember prophecy can change if America wakes up in time. Biblical prophecy already written cannot change. Prevention is better than cure. PLEASE FORWARD THIS MESSAGE.
