Children need to be told about Jesus

Their minds get full of garbage each day in the summer through TV and bad friends, and public school the other 9 months. Jesus can save a child if he/she asks Him. Parents need to tell their kids about Jesus.

I told my son that Jesus was a prophet from long ago who's teachings should be read and that Christians believe him to be the son of their god. He went on to form his own opinion, which is far from my own. I'm very proud of him.

Good for you elise. That's the way it should be with any teaching of matters of "religion".

You are very wise. Children make the best choices when they are exposed to all viewpoints. That's what life is about. I live in a community that has a large population of Amish. The Amish don't expect their children to join their religion until they are of age. They allow them to explore our lifestyle in a rite of passage called Rumspringa.

Well, you know your kids will go their own way. It's better to guide them along safely rather than alienate them by forcing your views down their throats. As it turns out, my son believes in god and I remain an agnostic.
