Obama was sworn in as a Senator on January 4, 2005. As of August 11, 2008 3 years, 7 months, 7 days. That makes 1,318 days. Which is a gross overstatement. If you consider only the number of work days in the senate from the time of his election until he formed his presidential campaign, Obama served 144 days in the senate. Hows that pumpkin?

If we can afford Cheney/Bush's foolish adventure in Iraq, I guess we can spend on just about anything. After all, we bailed out the Airline Industry already. The largest Corporations pay...ZERO...taxes; but that's fair because they provide all those quality jobs, right? Cost of war in Iraq: thousands of U.S. lives and over 1/2 trillion. Estimates only are that it will far exceed 3 trillion. Does this make you feel patriotic: http://www.nationalpriorities.org/costofwar/f... I just got back from Canada. America is a second world, blighted disaster in comparison. Their economy is sound, their home prices stable and even rising, their infrastructure well maintained. We are unwelcome economic immigrants in Canada, EXACTLY as Mexicans are to us.

Where Do Your Tax Dollars Go? Taxpayers can take stock of how the federal government spent their 2007 income tax dollars: over 40 percent went towards military spending, while education received just over 4 percent. This publication shows how the median income family's 2007 income tax dollars were spent for every state and 200 cities, towns and counties.

And I think we should have a flat tax for everyone and debtor's prisons for those who do not meet their financial responsibilities. And I would also like to see the death penalty for J-walking.

Debtors prisons...now there is a blast from the past whose time has come again. And good point about Iraq. I had completely forgotten our declaration of victory! I really do think the death penalty for J-walking is a bit harsh. Perhaps caning? We could all take a lesson from Singapore. Oh, yeah, the death penalty for drug dealers (and why not users too). Also, while we're grabbing good ideas from progressive countries, why not institute the death penalty for homosexuals. They could be married, then immediately executed. ;-)

Although caning is a bit harsh. I used to work at a canery and it would be awful messy. Plus, I don't even know what the shelf-life would be for a caned criminal.

Tax cuts for the wealthy create jobs for Joe sixpack. The war was frigging cool. Lots of dead ragaheads. And the Demoncrats opened the social security fund in the 60s and it has been a losing endeavor since. Don't you realize it is always, always the demoncrats fault?
