Amy Goodman, Exception to the Rulers, p9

The Bush team has invoked a basic principle of propaganda: Control the images and you control the people... The lesson had been learned from Vietnam - a lesson in manipulation. In Iraq, there would be no daily television images of the human toll of war. The government and the media would portray a clean war, a war nearly devoid of victims.

you seem sad Charlie ??

You get blue like everyone
But me and Grandpa Joe
Can make your troubles go away
Blow away, there they go...

Cheer up, Charlie
Give me a smile
What happened to the smile I used to know
Don't you know your grin has always
Been my sunshine;
Let that sunshine show...

Come on, Charlie
No need to frown
Deep down you know tomorrow is your toy...

When the days get heavy
Never pitter patter
Up and at'em boy

Some day, sweet as a song
Charlie's lucky day will come along
Till that day
You've got to stay strong Charlie
Up on top is right where you belong

Look up, Charlie
You'll see a star
Just follow it and keep your dreams in view
Pretty soon the sky is going to clear up
Charlie,
Cheer up Charlie,do
Cheer up Charlie
Just be glad you're you.

Visited glorious North Korea lately, slave?
Because of deliberate, politically driven starvation, soon you'll be able to see that rat-hole without the unsightly populace blocking your

What a bag of shit statement that was. The entire Gulf War was televised in real time on CNN. Everyone who had a TV saw the dead bodies of those civilians killed in the Ameriyya bomb shelter (played over and over again). It was that incident that prompted moving up the start of the ground war and it was the lopsided overkill of the ground war that caused the Bush administration to call a halt after only 100 hrs.

It was the Bush administration’s unilateral halt to the ground war that allowed Saddam (despite Iraq’s overwhelming defeat) to declare himself the victor and remain in power for another 12 years. Twelve years of sanctions and defiance of the UN. 12 years of US troops standing watch in Saudi Arabia all of which led to Osama’s fatwa and 9/11.

As war veterans Bush, Powell and Schwarzkopf all knew of the brutality of war, but then so did Saddam and the Iraqis when they invaded Kuwait.

"unilateral halt"? OMG. What a buffoon.

Do you have ANY idea what the word "unilateral" means? Read my lips ..... THE WHOLE WORLD DEMANDED FOR THE UNITED SNAKES TO STOP MILITARY ACTION because of that incident. There was NOTHING "unilateral" about it. The United Snakes Bozo Brigade wanted to continue slaughtering Irakis until the cows came home but were forced by the UN to stop.

Turn off FuxNews, put down News Week, cancell your prescription to the Stars and Stripes, go outside and take a look at real life, Davy Boy.

You and your drunken Left-wing losers at the pub do not equate to the world. From the start of the ground war on February 23,1991 till Bush announced the conditional ceasefire on the February 27 nobody asked for or proposed an end to the war; not the UN, not the UK, not the Arab League, not the Swedes, not even the Iraqis. Bush made the controversial decision that many (including Schwarzkopf) viewed as bringing a premature end to the war. It could be argued that had Bush continued and completely destroyed the Republican Guard, an inevitable coup de’tat would have occurred and the Iraqis would have been spared another 20 years of conflict.

Daily Horoscope for May 25

Scorpio

Emotional tension is in the air today, making it a fraught but exciting day. The fur could really fly between you and someone you fancy, especially if you aren't yet having a sexual relationship with them. Try to channel all this energy into positive directions, such as doing something creative or transforming. It will also help to keep active.
