The Democrats' all-new "opt out" idea for health care reform is the latest fig leaf for a total government takeover of the health care system.

Democrats tell us they've been trying to nationalize health care for 65 years, but the first anyone heard of the "opt out" provision was about a week ago. They keep changing the language so people can't figure out what's going on.

The most important fact about the "opt out" scheme allegedly allowing states to decline government health insurance is that a state can't "opt out" of paying for it. All 50 states will pay for it. A state legislature can only opt out of allowing its own citizens to receive the benefits of a federal program they're paying for.

It's like a movie theater offering a "money back guarantee" and then explaining, you don't get your money back, but you don't have to stay and watch the movie if you don't like it. That's not what most people are thinking when they hear the words "opt out." The term more likely to come to mind is "scam."

If people would drive sensibly america would save $300 billion a year in health care. There are no "accidents" on the highways. They are all crashes and due to reckless driving. The idiot american has been brainwashed into thinking speeding and DUI and cell-driving and running red lights are cool things to do!!!!

This bill is going to cost 2.2 trillion dollars and they call it universal healthcare, but no one gets the coverage for free..........

In Canada and Europe you get medical care, you dont pay premiums and deductibles. ITS FREE.

The government is going to force me to buy health care coverage AND tax the hell out of me for it. This is ridiculous. The government is now getting into the insurance business and fleecing every American because of it. Insurance companies are some the most profitable businesses, yet its going to cost 2.2 trillion of our taxes for this rip off. Why? Why dont the premiums cover it? Why wont the deductibles help pay for it like it does with other insurance companies. And how in the hell does the government getting involved equate to lower health care costs. If any American believes that in the 21'st century, I've got ocean front property in AZ. I'd like to sell you..........

Sorry to pop your bubble, but THEY may be able to blame smoking, too.

Non Smoking Phobes are like a broken record. They can see fault with everyone elses choices but find nothing wrong with there choices.? They talk on and on about denial of other people choices, yet they fail to confront there own involvement in there own demise. I cant help but wonder at what point in time will they accept responsibility for there own involvement.? I present 2 viable case senerios where they aer actually doing more harm to themselves then the public is doing to them.

More and more studies are being done on products which have perfumes in it. Would you scent your home or your clothing with a spritz of gasoline? Maybe bleach? What about some lovely mist of acetone to "arouse your senses"...Some of the most deadly chemicals are being breathed into our children's lungs everyday, simply because many uninformed Mothers think that that 'fresh smell' on their kids' clothing or plugged into an outlet in their home, is nice! Here's an interesting link, there are many more like it: http://www.watoxics.org/pressroom/press-clips...

Nearly all air freshners, toilet bowl disks, dryer sheets, fabric softeners, laundry detergents contain deadly toxins in them. The deadly toxins are the 'scent', and you're breathing it. Short term use of scented chemicals can cause difficulty breathing, nervousness, dizziness, headaches, sick stomach, feeling faint, rashes and/or difficulty controlling body movements. And of course there are many side effects from long term exposure which can occur such as seizures and various forms of cancer, a major one being lung cancer!!!

Researchers have also found a link between lung cancer and certain air pollutants that are caused by the burning of fossil fuels. This relationship has not been clearly defined, and more research is being done.

You will never hear them talk about it because they are to busy blaming others.!

School busses which spew out toxic exaust plus micro particules are another very serious air pollutant problem. This forum is however about smoking, so I'll not get on that band wagon.

I realize its really not free..........
But 2.2 trillion isnt chump change. And thats only to get about 12 million insured. The vast majority of citizens have insurance. My point really is, why is it going to cost 2.2 trillion and we STILL have to pay for the insurance? Insurance companies are profitable. It just doesn't make sense.

The other problem I see is employers will drop healthcare as a benefit. This will lead to more and more Americans having to pay for there own insurance. We will be taxed for it and we will have to pay for it besides. JMO.

I have had a couple too many martinis and am going to write openly so don't get your panties in a wad. All of this health care reform is garbage. Let me tell you what would fix the ills of health care. The cost of drugs is the problem! Over the last 20 years I have witnessed the cost of drugs skyrocket! Bring the cost of drugs down and the cost of health care will come back down. Insurance costs will come back down and every part of health care will follow suit. What part of this don't all of you buffoons out there not understand, WAKE UP PEOPLE it’s the drug costs!

Yes and no. The cost of drugs seem/are absurd unless you figure in the total cost of getting them on ther market in the first place. Then there is the obscene amount drug Cos. spend on adds. The other side of the coin is that something like $140-50.oo worth of "Levaquin" may keep someone with a lung infection out of the hospital, and save $10,000 to $16,000 in hospital bills.

Daily Horoscope for November 26

Gemini

Your eleventh house of friends and associates is activated by the Moon in Aries and it's time to go out and play with your friends. Even the Twins, who have been somewhat reclusive lately, will benefit from socializing tonight. A sense of relief will take hold when you realize that no one really has a better life than you. Sure, it might seem like someone else has a more glamorous existence, but if you could be a fly on the wall in their bedroom, you'd find they have nightmares, too!
