The earth has been proven that it has existed about 4.54 billion years, and man has existed in our present form perhaps a few hundred thousand years, with previous forms of humanoids for many millions of years.

Those numbers are not imagined, Patty, they are actually calculated based on actual findings that have been made.

Patty, if you are so dense that you have to ask about the BC-AD system of measuring time, then I am afraid nothing I could say to answer your question you would understand. Besides today people use CE and BCE rather than AD and BC.

Actually the AD-BC system was invented in 525 AD by a monk, to replace a previously used system, and was his way of putting some sort of an order to how people keep track of time, and because he was a monk, and because he would obviously have believed in Christ, he chose to use those terms and the estimated time that the story of Christ might have began as the starting points, so that everything could be measured according to his beliefs from before Christ or after Christ. There were other calendars, and still are used by certain peoples.
