That's a genius post. That's right, it's counter productive to the survival of a species, and therefore not natural and therefore abnormal. That's not to say it's a reason for anyone to make fun of people that are born abnormal; we should accept all of our fellow humans for what they are but how can anyone say that it's normal behavior?

It's acceptable but not normal. And because homosexual behavior is witnessed in nature doesn't make it normal, it makes it equally a minority percentage occurance. IOW maybe it's normal for homosexuality to occur within a small percentage of a population but the fact that it is a small percentage of genetic homosexuality makes it abnormal.

You see, this is where you make your incorrect leaps of logic. You are forcing Western notions of sexuality onto animals - Nano is, too, but she's incapable of understanding because of her biases and limited understanding of both human culture and evolution. I have greater faith in you, Pokay.

Homosexuality is not something that can be evolved - it's a cultural identity. The underlying sexual behavior is something that is evolved. Almost all species of primates do it.

Once, when I was studying primatology, my prof went to her field site to do a research project on consortships in Japanese macaques. Macaques have estrous - where they mate, like lots of animals. During estrous, they form two week pair-bonds, where the animals travel together, groom each other, act all friendly and have lots of sex.

Well the summer she went down she couldn't study male-female consortships because, Pokay, all the females were engaged in female-female consortships.

So, yes, your scenario above happens in nature. And, no, it does not have the evolutionary implications you think it does because you are trying to forcefit a Western cultural notion onto nature. Biology doesn't work like that.

All the females who were engaged in same sex sexual pairs also, at other times of the year, would mate with males. They're not "homosexual" in the Western sense of the word. They don't have sexual identities. They just have sexual behavior, and that behavior exists for evolutionary, adaptive reasons - it contributes to an individuals fitness.

Yes, I can explain it, but only if you understand the above.
