Proud To Be White-Someone finally said it

I totally agree with everything in this girls post. It is ridiculous that you can take two people. One white, another a minority and the minority will get all sorts of scholarships with the SAME grades and yet the white person will get far less. Affirmitive action is ridiculous. People should be judeged strictly on their intelligence and work ethic. I dont care if you are black white blue or grey iof you work your ASS off I will like you. But to say that minority scholarships, affirmitive action etc are not racist because they "level the playing field" is ridiculous becuase I am smart as are many of my peers. I have a 4.0 and a 31 on my ACT and yet I have been denied from EVERY scholarship i have applied and cannot go to college because I cannot afford it. And this SUCKS but the difference between me and todays liberals is that where a liberal would whine and cry for handouts and assistance I am going to work my ASS off to graduate college. ITs complete bullshit the way minorities are catered to so quite frankly its time to level the playing field and look at people completely race blind.

I am NOT a racist. Growing up through my adolescent years....I was always far from being a racist. BECAUSE I KNEW IT WAS WRONG!

HOWEVER.....through all those stages that we call "growing up" I've experienced and seen black hatred against white color far more than the reverse. Maybe it depends on where you're from. But I still will NOT single out one certain race.

I've been called "white" this and "white" that. Still won't single out a race for its color. A friend of mine got beaten up and urinated on by a group of black guys.....and I still won't single out. As I got older.....my cousin had himself a family. When his fiancee was out enjoying herself, on her way home she was raped and beaten. The guy that was caught...then confessed, thus convicted was a black guy. AND STILL...I won't single out a race. And what I find worse than any of that...is someone crying "Racist" when it's false. I got called a racist for giving someone a bad job appraisal at work. It happened to be a young black girl whom I criticised professionally. No racial bigotry....no malice. But I got accused of racial prejudice....and then came an inquest which I'm still fighting.

After all that all I can conclude is that after all the suffering and heartache their ancestors had, black people these days (no matter how much they cry, beg or plead) have the benefit of the doubt (legally).Legally is all they were fighting for anyway...right? And if they think that, that means nothing.....then we are lost.

Meh-it's a crap-shoot; you can't decide what race you are born into- so might as well be cool with it- I'm happy I'm white, but would be happy to be whatever- Whoever posted this question sounds like he/she has a chip on his/her shoulder.

The bigger hurdle for me is often I'm embarrassed to be a human when I see all the harm we do to every other species- in the long run, who cares? Give us a few more centuries and I'm confident we will go the way of the dinosaur-

White people have to preface any thing said about another culture with "I'm not a racist BUT...BECAUSE every time we have a gripe that deals with another culture we are called racists. or we could stop caring about being labeled racist in the first place and just say what we feel when we feel how we feel just like other races do. time has past that we (whites)quit apologizing for all the hurt feelings of others and start caring more about our own and how WE feel. be proud of your race whatever it is. stand up for it no matter what.

Be Something You Will Love & Understand , however if you cannot be proud of your self without degrading other races , cultures , people That aren't like you ( since God made everyone and sees us all as spirits) then you cannot truly love yourself . I'm proud to be me ! I'm not 100% caucasian and I'm okay with that , I've researched my ancestors. Has anyone researched your backgrounds ?

loving,promoting,protecting my race and not other races is totally different than wishing/doing harm to other races. when people bring God into the topic of racism it tells me they havent looked at how God repeatedly kept the 'nations' separate. in those times a 'nation' was a 'race' of people. integration is NOT a positive thing. as far as researching ancestors, glad someone else out there cares enough to find out. i was lucky, i was raised knowing my heritage/ancestors. seems like thats a bad thing/word today. proud white guy.'14'

I agree that one can be proud of his heritage , I knew my ancestery back 8 generations & researched the different cultures. You're right their is a difference between being proud of where you came fromand doing harm to other races. God loves everyone .

If you come to some parts of the south you will see that whites are no longer the minority and we are still not getting anything to represent the way we feel. I am tired of being treated differently because I am white. You can be proud to be anything but white in this country. the minute a white person wants to celebrate their heritage at all we are called and considered racist. i feel more racism from the blacks then any other culture. where is my al sharpton or jessie jackson?
