Since Mexicans are wasting thousands of dollars paying some "mule" to sneak them in, lets turn that into taxes. Setup Air conditioned trailers along the border (cheaper than fence) with signs and loudspeakers. Encourage illegal aliens to register for a work permit. It only costs 1000 bucks every 6 months. Take a photo, fingerprint and offer immunizations. Give them a 6 month permit to work. Heck, if we get the tech, stick a GPS chip in their butt. Every 6 months, they can get a new permit. We should make it easy for these folks to come here and work. I just want to make sure they pay taxes. As a bonus, the aliens will not have to stay in some sweatshop at a terrible wage, they can move on. Put an 800 number on the card for FAQ. And we will know where most of them are.

They take jobs away from American Citizens and we do not need to increase the amount here until we get rid of the illegal aliens.

I am not ready to buy into that.
Supposedly, there are 12 million of them here in the US right now. I bet the vast majority are working.
Until recently, the job market wasn't that bad.I don't think we can blame them for lack of jobs, blame the greedy industrialist sending our jobs over seas.
If they are here legally, then they do not have to work in a cheap sweatshop. That I believe is a problem, greedy shop owners can pay them cheaply and not list them on the books. They may contribute to the lowering of pay scales (it is still the fault of the greedy shop owner).
If they are legal, they can tell those SOB's to stick it, nd get better paying jobs. Forcing the greedy shop owners to pay more, and even hire American.

I may indeed be wrong, But I am under the impression that the sweatshops like illegals not because they are American,but because they are illegal.
If they have a work permit, they should be able to leave the sweatshops, thumb their noses, and find jobs that pay better. It seems to me the sweat shops would then have to pay more money to get workers.
Of course, if those greedy bums pay more for workers, you can bet your sweet bippy they will charge more for their products.
