Ridiculous. Why would you give a Jewish or Muslim child a Christmas gift anyway? Seems like they're forgetting that Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Christ. A Christian holiday. A Jesus doll. Makes perfect sense to me.

Christmas is no longer a soley christian holiday. It is a commericial holiday. Or am I confused and the virgin mary gave birth to santa claus. They give gifts to all children equally without segregating thier religion becuase even non-christian celebrate the commericail side of christmas and children don't know the difference.

I am troubled that the USMC is becoming too politically correct and got caught up in this over blown situation. I can tell you this however, The "Toys or Tots" program is one of the GREATEST civilian volunteer efforts of any Military Group. It truly is a wonderful thing that the USMC Reserve does out of the goodness of their hearts. Thank you for your efforts.

It is unfortunate that we allow silly things like this to be blown out of proportion, when this program is so excellent. I support the Toy-for-Tots program totally.

Plan for Toys for Tots Early this Year

It is important to plan ahead for Toys for Tots. You see so many of us run across things during the year we pass over, but do not have too. We may see a new toy at a Garage Sale totally unopened and still in the package for sale for $1.00 or less.

Surely we can spare a dollar right now and save it for Christmas Time, think about what that gift will mean to a needy kid some day. Consider a smile on some child’s face and that one-dollar you spent; one-buck made a difference, yet if you pass by that close out sale or bargain corner and do not spending a buck or two you missed that opportunity you see?

Each year the United States Marine Corp Reserve volunteers to work to collect and deliver toys to needy children and they need your help. Each year you may even think about this and some years or maybe every year you donate a toy. That is a very wonderful, honorable and noble thing you have done.

Now then lets see if we can all do this a little better, a little more efficiently and that might make all the difference. During Christmas time there are many charities out there competing for donations and if you plan ahead you can do more for less money and help more groups. Support the Children of America and Support Toys for Tots. Consider this in 2006.

Sun King, There is nothing warped about the birth of Jesus Christ the Savior of the World for those who believe and for those who don't. Of course no one knows the exact date of Jesus Christ's birth. The early Christians decided to celebrate the birth of the Savior during pagan holidays and replace them with a Christian Holyday. So what? The fact is that Jesus Christ (The Second Person of the Blessed Trinity) took on human flesh and became man. This is called the Incarnation. All Christians believe in this. Think about it...God becoming a man to suffer die and redeem the fallen human race....awesome...thank God we celebrate Christmas once a year.

"sms" in Warren expresses a characteristically American attitude, and "who" in Reading a characteristically British one. I say this as someone who has lived for many years in each country.
