Can see he's still a bit ribby but he's looking a lot better than he did! And his Winter coat is also starting to come in now

Is he a cribber? Gnaws on the3 stall walls/door edges? If he is getting enough to eat he may have some nervous energy to work off. Kinda like a fidgety kid. One trick we used to use with our string of race horses was to give them a "toy" to play with. Usually a cheap plastic ball from a dept store. Put it in a spare hay net and hang it on the wall for him to push around with his nose. Some of the horses found that fascinating and would do it for hours rather than crib. You also might want to check the protien content on his feed. Might need a higher count for him to pick up that 75/100 pounds he looks to be missing. Good luck with him,otherwise hes a fine looking Cayoose.

But they did have to reinforce the latch because I think he was letting himself out during the night. There are others who does the same and their stable door latches are also reinforced. Lol. Clever buggers.

He goes out into the field again now and will quickly regain his condition because grazing is good. I'm still struggling to get the contact info from the lady (asked her again yesterday) for the guy selling those big bales of grass but once I get that from her I'll be buying one for him to nibble on while he's inside.

He's a good doer fortunately so I know he'll be back in tip-top shape in no time. Then we can start the more serious work to build muscle tone. He's already filling out! And it's only been 4 / 5 days that he's been out to the field! So yeah, things are looking up.

Thanks for the compliment, he's a handsome chap. And apparently he's said to be more towards the 15-17 year mark than 12-13 but he's got the spunk of an 8 year old :-)

Love how long his mane and tail have gotten since I've gotten him to now. Amazing how fast it's grown and all I've done is leave it to grow and brush it regularly and massage the roots. And it shows.

I know his feed is good too, his coat is shiny and his hooves are in a very good state

I can see clearly now their brains are gone.

I can see many possible ways to say, all of the doubts of low IQ are gone

It's gonna be a long, long troublesome day.......

lol ... we have a local nail salon that just changed "hands" lol ... they now serve wine while you get your mani/pedi ... that freaked me out ... smudge your polish, who cares? haha ...
