He was worshiped as the Sol Invictus (the invincible sun). It turns out that the place Jesus visited in the bible are translations of Ceasars tour round Gaul. Many of the sayings of Jesus are copies of Ceasars words. Ceasar was a popular hero and brutally murdered by the senators, this was translated to Jewish high priests. The Ceasar cult was hugely popular but suddenly disappeared when the emperor made Christianity the state religion. They are the ones that created the churches. 4 The Greek did not regard their Gods as the bringers of order but disorder, a nuisance. Greece was never centrally governed and they hated central order, whether from earthly or heavenly kings. They believed that human rationality was the bringer of order in nature. The Roman empire was culturally totally dominated by Greek ideas. Hell is just a German word for Underworld. Even today we call exceptional people stars for that reason. So you can understand the attraction of a religion that promises people "heaven". Be a star forever! What an improvement to going to Hades. Hades was for common people. In fact you even had to pay to get there and your family had to put a coin under your tongue to be taken by the ferryman. Otherwise your spirit could not find rest. Christianity is a mix of all kind of cults made into one cult. When the sun entered a new star constellation this was the time for a new religion. In the past it was also so. When the Sun moved from Bull to Ram, the same happened. This is the end of the Bull worship and in the bible we read that Mozes killed the worshipers of the Golden Bull calf. In Greece we find the story of the gulden (rams)fleece. In those days people were very much anticipating change. When the sun would enter the new constellation, the son of God would take a new form. That became Christ. The Mythras sect had no writings, the Jews made these around it and placed it in Israel. They probably did this after the destruction of their temple. There were many Jewish slaves then in Rome. They were used to built the Colosseum. The Jews too were awaiting the new son of God, but they called him Messiah. They hoped he would get rid of the Romans. Although Christianity was forced on people in the empire, it does not have seem to have been a big problem to convert people in Rome. This is because Christianity simply took all that was popular from existing cults. We have to leave this idea: Jewish cult miraculously takes over complete roman empire, abolished Greek faith and replace it with Jewish faith. It is nonsense. Like since the WO-2 Protestants have been making Jesus into a Jew, he was never considered before. 2 It says suffering is good for you. You have been called to follow Christ in his steps, quite an honor. And Jesus of course never condemns slavery, on the contrary. Is that not a bit strange for a good God? This beautiful thinking was developed by the Romans, they had a slave society. For the slaves there was no hope of a better life. There was only suffering and more suffering. The Romans had no compassion for slaves at all. They reasoned, that if a slave did not like it, he could always commit suicide, so why complain? Lets not forget that beautiful Greek democracy was a slave society too and even the Greek philosophers seem to find that quite normal. So slaves (soldiers) developed a belief in which there was only hope in the hereafter. It may no seem much, but for a slave it was all he could cling to. The slave masters liked this belief too because it kept the slaves from revolting. It is no coincidence that this religion was developed after the great slave uprising under Spartacus in 73AD. They first beat five Roman legions but were beaten before the could escape the country. That was when the real crucifixion took place. 6000 slaves were hanged along the 200 km long interstate Via Appia. They let them hang there for years and years.(So I guess the hanging if a Jewish insurgent in one of the colonies did not send a shock-wave through Roman Empire.) This must have robbed slaves of any illusion of a better life. The empire was becoming less and less stable, there were so much slaves and conquered nations to be oppressed. The problem grew since Rome was always expanding, they needed gold, more gold. There never was enough gold. The needed this gold for armies and to buy all the exquisite things from India. they had delicious spices, cloth, tigers, elephants but Indians only wanted to trade for gold. They simply did not have enough gold for all the legions anymore and combine it with the luxurious lifestyle they had developed.(A bit like the mega-debt of US right now) That is when the Roman emperors realized that suppressing people physically wasn't enough, they had to be suppressed mentally. That is what Christianity does. It teaches people not to resist to injustice. Of course it took enormous bloodshed to impose this faith, but it worked great and the example was followed by all successors of the Roman empire. 2 I read the bible 5 times form cover to cover. I was raised a Christian. Even as a child I noticed that there seemed to be a big gap between theory and practice. I could understand why children behaved as they did, but the grown-ups seem to behave strangely and contradictory to the things they taught children, this loving side of Jesus. When I was around 14 I became more aware of this other side of Jesus. Jesus seemed to be a strange God. What I had taken for pure unselfish love, was selfless love. Jesus demanded my soul and blind obedience in return. Neither did he ask unselfish love but he bribed you with promises of heaven and blackmailed you with threats of hell. A bummer for me. And his mercy seemed to be that he will not send me to hell, if I obey him. This to me seemed more like a mafia-moral (We offer you protection against us). His justice to me looked more like apartheid. Perfectly nice unbelievers were cast in hell, but Adolf Hitler and his gang could still go to heaven if they asked forgiveness (which most of them did). I became aware of the many genocides Christians did. But it was always done by bad Christians I was told. I started to see a pattern. Do terrible things, ask forgiveness. Do terrible things, ask forgiveness. Do terrible things, ask forgiveness. etc. But what I could not at all accept is people burning in hell by a so called loving God. I thought only a psychopath could do this and call it justice. I would never do that. So why could Jesus not forgive them, since he is so all-forgiving? I decided I would never want to be with such a God, not even if this meant I had to go to hell. I rather go to hell than to be an accomplice of such a God. I was still scared, because I was made to fear hell as a child. But my sense of justice won out. It was an enormous dilemma because I had always felt the presence of God. Then I got a bright idea. Maybe God does exist, but Christianity is wrong? Yes that must be it! I made a long journey and nowadays I believe God is in all of Nature. Nature is full of wonder. We do not need the artificial miracles Christianity serves to immobilize our thinking into blind belief. Nature is truly Divine. And it is not wrathful, hateful to any part of it. It is full of love once you open your mind to it. Not the conditional love Jesus gives, but true bliss. I know many of you think you are evil. This is not so. But instead of believing you can go on doing sin because Jesus forgives you, you better change your ways. Because you will not be able to escape the consequences of your actions by believing in a myth. God loves you always, but you will face the consequences of your actions. Not in hell though, but here on earth, in this life or the next. So change your life for the better and you will be rewarded too. Mozes is the "lawgiver". we find this person in all cultures and the names are strikingly similar. People should stop taking stories litarally that have been changed endlesly over time to suit the needs.
