I'm fairly liberal and I don't listen to any talk radio.
Neither does my wife. I grew sick of music radio and found that when I'm on the road talk radio is soothing. The right wing talking point is as usual slanted and incomplete. Ed and Steph have grown at a faster rate in a few years than Drugie ever dreamed of and they are still growing.

I wonder how long these liberal talk radio shows will last when the "Fairness Doctrine" is passed?

Ah, the "Fairness Doctrine," that peculiar notion
that the free exchange of ideas should be regulated
(controlled) by the government.

Presumably you feel the same way about the Internet?
About blogs? Perhaps instead of having a 6 to 1
ratio of liberals to conservative columnists at the
New York Times should be regulated as well?

In short, do you really want that kind of America?

All in good fun, Ridge, but you set yourself up for this one: So, you choose not to mix much with
liberals that aren't middle or upper middle class?
:-)
Good one, your right I had my guard down. It was not really a conscious choice but most of the people I know the best and identify with have similar issues, problems, successes and failures associated with business. Most of these people are first generation business owners from lower middle class and middle class backgrounds. I really don't know anyone who was born rich very well. My neighborhood is small, eclectic, everyone knows each other and it is out in the boonies and very blue collar. I have lived here a long time and most of us including myself started in the trades. My focus definitely shifted to those with similar current experiences yet I still keep very involved with the neighborhood and my old friends. I added to my group rather than changing groups.

Thats news to me. Are they bombastic loudmout liberals or is it a reasonable show? I would have to hear it to know. Both Right wing and left wing talk radio I have heard to date has been obnoxious. I could see how someone could do a good job but I have never seen it done.

Sorry about the confusion Bill. You have mistaken me for someone who believes the Fairness Doctrine would be a good thing, when in fact, I do not. I asked the question because so many liberals feel that conservative talk radio isn't fair because it supposedly doesn't give both sides of the story. The demoncrats are the one's attempting to revive the Fairness Doctrine, not the conservatives. Bravo for the liberal talkers....now if only they will leave conservative talkers alone it would be great! If they don't like it, they don't have to tune in.

Try again!
Unfortunately, you have NO idea as to what this particular conversation is about. All you saw was the word "fair" and you felt compelled to make a fool of yourself...Congratulations, you succeeded....LOL If your brain isn't hurting too bad...take some time to attempt to figure out what we were talking about, then if you valid comment, please, by all means, make it.

I work in pain management. We prescribe these powerful drugs. We see every patient monthly and we monitor their medications. If they are still having pain, we may change or increase their medications.
Addiction sometimes occurs, but it's misconstrued by the public.
Many of the long acting medications like oxycontin are automatically an addiction. Meaning, you can't just stop taking them as the body depends on it.
Just like antidepressants, you can't just stop them or the body reacts.
What this fool did, was doctor shop and was getting prescriptions illegally from several other doctors.
There is no justification for his actions. He was your run of the mill, drug seeking, addict. His addiction was no different than the person on the street looking for meth or coke.
There are no excuses. Many of our patients have severe pain issues for one reason or another. They continue on with their lives using their medications AS PRESCRIBED and do not shop around for more and more to feed an addiction.
This man is a liar and a traitor to the RW. Anyone who continues to follow his 'preachings' are just as deluded as he is.

Thank God Bill and Hilarity never used drugs. Good thing Teddy Kennedy never had a substance problem that effected his, and his families lives. And praise be to God that Obama never tested the waters of illegal drugs. And of coarse we all know of Al Frankens dislike of drugs when he wrote for S.N.L.
And for Rush to admitt he had a problem and seek help, man that showed such week caricture. To tell the world you have a problem, and to get help for it...what kind of example does that set. Every one knows you have to deny you have a problem, no matter who many people die, or drown, because of you. It's the democratic way.
He was busted, and tho he got treatment - I do not believe he has ever admitted to having a substance abuse problem.
