"...and to the republic for which it stands,
one nation under God, indivisible,
with liberty and justice for all."
With the controversial phrase, "under God," in the Pledge of Allegiance, should our children have to say in school?

Depends on what God you are talking about; Thor, Shiva, AmanRa, or JC? You should be asking about the "allegiance" part of the pledge! Should there be strict allegiance regardless of what the nation perpetrates on its citizens? Is this a case study for your thesis??

Ah it's you again! Haha, hello there. I guess that's a good question too. "Allegiance" to one's own country...? I wonder, if you don't particularly like what you are allying yourself to, should it be necessary to proclaim this "false" allegiance?
Oh, no. It's not a case study for my thesis; though I think I might make it mine. I wanted to get some various opinions on this subject for one of my finals.

I Pledge Allegiance
To Al Gore
And the United Nations of Earth
And to the tax increases
For which it stands
One Planet, Under attack
With special lightbulbs, and ethanol for all!

Kiera, my dear; I don't give advice, however please remember: Belive those that seek the truth, but doubt those who find it.

Normally, I am not in the abosolution business but you seem like a nice chick so say 10 Hail Mary's and read "Culture Warrior" by Bill O'Reilly and you will be forgiven. Oh, and also trip one of your liberal professors. Bastard deserves it, believe me.

Of course everyone in America should have to say it. You have a nation that has given you the right to leave if you don't want to be a part of it. America was founded on great values that should be remembered at all times. This country would be a better place if the citizens would embrace it.

Wouldn't that be great if I made it on national television by tripping a liberal professor? I think I'll put that on my Top 10 list of things to do before I die. Number 3: Trip a Liberal.

I see. But, what if you didn't agree with certain parts of the pledge? Should you be able to just cut that part out?

You don't have to make it blatantly obvious that you did it on purpose. Just stick your foot out at the opportune time. Pull it back in when the deed is done. Run to his side and help him up. Apologize like crazy. Then laugh your ass off when you get home. It is wicked cool.

Was founded on great values for whom? We fought the British to be free, so that we could have the black man as a slave.

Of course. I mean, come on. Deliberate? You've got to be kidding me. I could definitely try to make it look like an accident. I might try the line, "Oh, it looks like you just ran into my foot."

You know, I just learned in my World History class that it wasn't just the white men who were capturing slaves. Many of the African chiefs were selling their own people to the Europeans for money and/or to be seen in a better light by Europe.

I am kinda partial to the Mayflower Compact myself. The Constitution is overrated. The Brits came here seeking religious freedom to praise God and kill the occasional witch. Damned Sons of Liberty ruined this nation. God Bless King George!

God save our gracious King,
Long live our noble King,
God save the King:
Send him victorious,
Happy and glorious,
Long to reign over us:
God save the King.
O Lord, our God, arise,
Scatter his enemies,
And make them fall.
Confound their politics,
Frustrate their knavish tricks,
On Thee our hopes we fix,
God save us all.
Thy choicest gifts in store,
On his be pleased to pour;
Long may he reign:
May he defend our laws,
And ever give us cause
To sing with heart and voice
God save the King
