The first haplotype (V), mainly found in North Africa, has a proportion of 18.6% among Jews of North Africa. The authors emphasize that this haplotype appears in similar proportions among the Palestinians (15.9%) and the Lebanese (16.7%). The second haplotype (IV), mainly found in sub-Saharan Africa, has a proportion of 8.4% among Jews of North Africa and is not found among the Ashkenazi Jews.
