Nope everthing is cool between Canada and America. George Bush was mad at Canada, when he was president (not Americans) and i think thats were a lot of the rumours came from, but since Bush hasn't been president, things have been relatively good between US and Canada. Not really....Obama and many of his demorats view Alberta's oil as dirty and bad.

Alberta oil=a very very big part of Canada's economy.

Yep, I wouldn't know that. I don't know anything about the relationship between the USA and Canada, and even less about Bush's presidency lol, which is pretty sad but I never cared. I also have never watched the Olympics! Did Canada beat the USA in hockey? heh say what you want about the USA, I'm not American.:p

True, you live in beautiful Sweden. So you don't probably hear to much Canada/US relations talk over there. And indeed Canada did beat America in the gold medal game. To give America much credit though they tied the game with seconds remaining, and had us all on the edge of our seats. Now as for Bush, i don't blame you. Even americans didn't care for him.:) From what i understand he was the least popular president in the history of the country. He even beat our Nixon for least approval. But thats American politics, As for the American people in general, I have many American friends, and they are good people. Sometimes they are the victims of their goverments decisions, but i guess we all are when it comes do how our governments conduct themselves.

well, if Bush was that bad or unpopular, can anyone explain why he got elected to presidency 2 times?

Nixon might be bad, this was the one who approached Communist China and started a relationship with Red China which lasted till today (maybe a bad thing though, it justified the Communist rule in China and brought about many events, including global warming and pollution by China, maybe even America's economic problems).

by the end of Bush's 2nd term he had 20% approval rating - about half that of Obama.

Oh no, I live in the USA. I moved here from Sweden about four years ago, but I live in the scummiest little town you can imagine and the locals don't really know what's going on outside of this county lmao, they are as ignorant about these things as I am. Well, the majority of them. Y'know, this is the kind of town filled with trashy families that eay breakfast, lunch and dinner at McDonalds. I was gonna ask why Bush is such a villain but.. I don't want anyone to see this who is overly gung-ho about politics or something,'cause then this thread would probably turn into a political debate LOL. However I'm happy that you think Sweden is beautiful :D Have you ever been?

I never actually have been in Sweden, but i have seen pictures, and what i have seen is very nice. Very Beautiful. The closest i have been to Sweden, is Germany. But Norway and Sweden are places that i have on my list of "Want to see" I guess i assumed you lived in Sweden, because of your avatar, but i guess that can be changed. None the less i believe it would be fun to see. I hear you about Mcdonalds. You can't eat every meal there. Its not good.:)

As for Bush, i think he truly wasn't a villan persay, he was the president, that was gung ho about going to war with Iraq, when the rest of the world didn't feel it was necessary to fight Iraq again, and then when the economy went in the tank, that just didn't help his cause. As for if he was a villan or not, i don't believe he was a villan persay, i believe he honestly believed he was protecting America. Right or wrong, its what he believed. but your right, we don't want to turn this into a politcal banter.
