Sarah Palin's "visit to Ford Hood" is part of her book tour. Gee, opportunistic much?

Palin's just another celebrity wanna-be. There's no substance to her. The fact that she walked away from her elected duty to Alaska's citizens proves that her values are completed bogus. The soldiers at Fort Hood will feel insulted by her presence there.

She should be visiting the balloon boy family - that's more her level of celebrity. Shameless.

Of course she is since they intend to try to give the fetus one person was said to be carrying legal status to claim that was a murder. If that works then abortion could be considered murder legally.

After all she made rape victims pay for their own test.

"Before Oct. 16, 1991, the Central Texas town of Killeen was perhaps best known for its proximity to the Army base at Fort Hood, and Luby's was known only regionally as a popular cafeteria chain.

But on that day, both came to be linked to what was then the worst mass murder in U.S. history.

At 12:45 p.m., 35-year-old George Hennard of nearby Belton drove his pickup truck through a window at the Killeen Luby's and killed 24 people."

24 people dies, he was a former soldier and was upset about Clarence Thomas hearings, didn't like women and various other things said after he committed that act.

Plus 76 suicides at that base since 2003.

There has been more than one murder/suicide.

Sep 12, 2008 5:55:53 EDT

"KILLEEN, Texas — The dispute that led a Fort Hood soldier to kill his lieutenant and then himself may have been sparked by missing military equipment.

Killeen police said Tuesday that 24-year-old Lt. Robert Bartlett Fletcher of Jensen Beach, Fla., had gone with a staff sergeant to talk to a 22-year-old specialist under their command.

The specialist was set to be discharged soon, and some equipment was missing.

Police called to the scene on Monday saw the specialist shoot Fletcher to death before killing himself. The staff sergeant was not injured."

And domestic violence cases that also ended in murder/suicide.

The answer that this one person had different religious beliefs or cultural attitudes is overly simple, it is an easy popular answer but it overlooks a lot. There is something much more serious going on here.

Seriously, hasn't there been enough tragedy there already without her showing up pimping a ghost-written book? I can just see the photo-ops of her posing with the injured or the families of victims, holding a hardcover copy up for the cameras. When are her 15mins going to be up?

Sarah, usually I'm against vigilante justice, but I want you to put your gun where your mouth is (figuratively speaking) and take justice to this guy! Kill him with your own gun, and show us how you are behind America 100%! Surely you are willing to sacrifice a few years in prison for the chance at doing something truly, truly great for our country!

A lot of far-left liberal wack-jobs on this thread so far.

Go Sarah! Keep up the good fight against the evils of liberalism and political correctness.

You would elect for President a woman who quit her job as governer of a state in order to write a book and speak publically? In an economy where people are starving for jobs?? Common sense says you don't hire someone who quits their previous job just cause they wanted to hang out and do something fun instead. Why would you support someone who cares so little about actually governing anything that she quits mid way through her term?

What a class act she is! Unlike our president who got up on his first speech after that and instead of acknowledging this act and condemning it, he wanted to give some shout outs!

I think its funny that you liberals are posting your objections here when I had to watch Obama saluting coffins and patting people on the back at Arlington cemetery all while refusing to make a decision on Afghanistan. Would you like to bet on who would be more welcome on base?

President Obama honored the victims by immediately warning Americans not to "jump to conclusions" -- namely, the obvious conclusion that the attack was an act of Islamic terrorism. As conclusions go, it wasn't much of a jump.

I suppose assuming that someone who shouts Allah Ackbar! while slaughtering our citizens is a terrorist would be "acting stupidly", right BO?

I suppose we should be relieved that liberals weren't claiming Hasan snapped because of the dimming prospects for a health care bill by the end of the year.

President Osama is protecting his moslem brothers at every opportunity. If I was Yank, I'd be voting for a patriot such as Palin over a phony like Osama.

Oh you hit the nail on the head! He only convinced one family to let him do his phony salute with their sons coffin. All for a photo op. Talk about shameless, if not heartless. And you are absolutely right, Sarah would be much more welcomed than Obama. Everyone knows the military is always more respected under Republicans.
