You made a direct reference about the Troy Davis case.
The judge says the recantations of the witnesses was smoke and mirrors, the recants made no sense. Yet still not 100% of the witnesses recanted their statements. Numerous judges have looked at the case numerous times and still after 22 years not enough evidence to warrant a retrial.
It is not uncommon for a death sentence to be delayed numerous times. They want to be sure its the correct thing to do. There was just another guy in TX. that got a reprieve. it was his second, he's been on death row 10 years. This guy just happened to have met two women who he had sex with (on different occasion) and they both ended up dead hours after they met him. What are the chances of that happening? Yet they are still going over his trial after 10 years and probrably it will be another 4-5 years before they execute him.
The average time on death row is 14 years..........
